Ok. I listened to it. ( steely dan mcld 19145) Sounds wonderful but I haven't compared it to my DIDX one or Citizen). We will see
I picked up the Steely Dan Aja cd- MCAD 37214 DIDY CRC on back lower left corner above "Produced by Gary Katz". Cd matrix info is: MCAD-37214-1T 21(in small etching). I love the sound. It's in my top 3 favorite albums of all time....
I have the DIDY 55 MCAD 37214 CRC also but my matrix is completely different. Too many pressings, so little time. It does sound sweet though.
Seems there are many versions of this great album. I have two: CD - MCA Records MCAD-37214. Has a 1984 date. Vinyl - Mofi MFSL 1-033, Pressed in Japan No idea if either of these are considered superior, but I find the Mofi quite enjoyable.
Is there a story behind Columbia House getting the SH mix, or was it just completely arbitrary? I grabbed the BMG music club CD thinking it was comparable to the CRC version, but...nope.
