You seem more helpful here than Discogs themselves. How can I stop getting anything but USD in my Wantlist results? I mean, I’m not intending to ship records overseas. Seems not worth most records.

What does your want list have to do with you shipping records overseas?

As a seller you have the option to disable international shipping.

As a buyer you cannot exclude results based on location (to my knowledge).

If you're talking about showing items in marketplace option, there will be an option on the side that selects USD

This can be done on the sales offering pages, but I don't know if this can be done on the Want List page. Filters show up on the left margin. I'm pretty sure you can't do what you want.

Not possible in either the wantlist emails they send out or on your wantlist page.

The only way to do this is go to your Wantlist and filter to USD (on the left) every time you go there. People have been requesting more Wantlist features on Discogs for years, especially the ability to block sellers who relist their items every day.

Try clicking on Log-In icon on the far right. In the drop down menu listing choose "Settings". Then in the left column choose "Buyer" and in there you can select what currency you want to see. The same goes with "Seller." I'm not sure this will work but it's worth a try.

I just don’t want to pay a shipping cost as much as the record....

I was told to look but there are some drawbacks to this site. first of all I can't find a page that explains in great detail what options there are on this site. For me it's hard to navigate this site because I'm just not used to it. what is the difference between in collection, and in want list? I mean I know I want this is what you want maybe some people can see it and then maybe contact you if they've got a copy of it for sale but I'm confused.

it's exactly as you say. "wantlist" is where you can browse the site and add items to, exactly like a "wishlist" on say amazon. "collection" is where you catalog your music collection. just lists, my man.

Oh okay. But why would someone catalog their collection online? Maybe they're forgetful and don't know if they own it any longer?

sure. and the most popular reason that i can discern is to keep track of "value". you can export your collection and use it for insurance purposes too.

i have over 3500 records, and it's very nice to have a running list of them.

When you are looking at an offer page you can select "Ships from..." on the left menu and set it to USA. I don't know how the wantlist part works, though.

Okay that makes sense I only have between 500 and 600 CDs so I can pretty much keep the titles in my head what I have.

I have no idea where an offer page would be. As I look through the want list page I see filters on the left and there is a part where I can change the monetary value I don't know if that's as much as I want to spend or what but it says dollars and pounds. and it also allows me to go down a list of sellers and expand the list as well.

By "offer page" I mean the for sale listings for any given item. I don't have a wantlist so have never seen the page you are talking about. Is there a "Ships from" filter on the left side of the page you use? On listings pages it is towards the bottom. Took me a while to find it.

I just read your message looked at the bottom there is nothing but then I started playing with all the options. I'm purchasing things on my phone because I don't have access to a laptop or desktop computer. I clicked on the full screen or computer screen and it expanded the page and I saw what you were referring to.

Got me. Discogs is barely usable (at least for what I want to use it for) on a computer, when I've tried to use it on a phone it's a nightmare.

Even though people complain about eBay and say it's terrible this way or that way I still use it because I find people who selling on eBay reasonable. I've gotten into relationships with some sellers to where I contact them and say hey I would like to buy a few CDs from you.

They say okay which ones are you interested in? I list the ones I'm interested in and ask them what would you charge me? they give me a price either no cost of shipping or shipping included and I divide the number into the price they give me.

If it's a reasonable price per CD I go ahead and pay them. They usually create a special auction just for me with a $200 price tag on it so nobody buys it up right away with a make offer and tell me the offer price they're willing to accept.

I usually buy lots of 10 CDs at a time like this but I can buy five or six. They usually come out about five or six dollars each. And these are hard to get rare CDs too. I mean like the Paul McCartney early pressings they go for 20 to $30 each shipped. I don't know why or how they're doing this but I figured they're buying these for a dollar or two and turning around and marking them down as opposed to sitting on them for a while.

    Have you tried Discogs Enhancer?

Is that an app? I don't have any room for more on my ancient phone. I had one called VinylPrice I think, and it worked better than the main site but I think stopped working at all.

Chrome add-on. Makes Discogs so much better to use on a PC.

Is discogs primarily used by the world and less by America? The only reason I ask is because as the feature you pointed out to me where albums ship from a lot of the times I see a majority in Europe and no listings in America. Where if I were to use eBay I have to go to the countries eBay to get primarily from that country so if I'm in America the majority is going to come out of America for the most part but there will be some that ship from the world but primarily it will be from America.
