Milton Glaser, a graphic designer who changed the vocabulary of American visual culture in the 1960s and ’70s with his brightly colored, extroverted posters, magazines, book covers and record sleeves, notably his 1967 poster of Bob Dylan with psychedelic hair and his “I ♥ NY” logo, died on Friday, his 91st birthday, in Manhattan.

He died from a stroke and renal failure, and also designed the I ❤️ NY logo as well.

He was also the founder of New York magazine.

Farewell to a giant in 20th century graphic design and illustration, and huge influence at my design school, SVA (The School of Visual Arts) in New York.

1962-Peter,Paul & Mary first album, including the logo. Discogs has a list of 255 covers, sure, some are from reissues, but dating back to classical albums for Westminster in 1953. Children's books with Shirley Glaser words are very interesting. Grand Union supermarkets logo was indeed iconic.

Did Mr Glaser ever admit that the word Elvis can be seen in Dylan's hair? Or was that just my and other people's imagination?

While an RIP thread may not be the best place to argue ,know that even 20th century commercial items like the Coca-Cola logo or even their bottle design are known world wide. For your consideration:The Gods Must Be Crazy. I don't think an I Love NY button dropped from the sky and falling into the wild would create the same stir as that empty bottle.
