    Where’s Poppa, great great film.
So outrageous in it’s time, probably still is.

Rob has a cameo in this.

Check out “Ten from Your Show of Shows”, Carl’s brilliant contribution amongst brilliance (Sid Caesar, Imogene Coca, etc.). Funny, funny stuff!

He wrote a wonderful book about Old Radio fairly recently. My daughter got me an autographed copy. He seriously made the world a better place.

It's sad but 98 is a good run, especially when you had as much fun as he did.

A helluva run to be sure. He was around my whole life and long before. Made the man an institution.

    And damn he was FUNNY.

    RIP Carl

My condolences to his family. Carl Reiner was a giant of entertainment. I first became familiar with him from TDVDS reruns on daytime tv. I'll never forget the episode where he had all his hair pieces lined up on his desk and having a meeting with them. A lot for a six year old to digest at the time. ;o)
    Rest easy Mr. Reiner.

I worked with Imogene Coca back when I was a touring sound engineer. She was a total sweetheart. Not too many folks left from that era.

    Yes, this.

A great career and living to 98 is nothing to sneeze at. Stay hard, Carl.

The 2000 Year Old Man album series with Mel Brooks is also classic.

I just wrote about the passing of Johnny Mandel and he scored The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming and now the star of the film,Carl Reiner, has passed. Carl evidently not involved behind the scenes as he was in so many other projects, but a fine performance as the straight man he played so many times-here for the town crazies and the Russians in the submarine. That kind of performance is harder than it seems. And timely-just check the New York Times today-Russian in the news once again.Checking on TCM,the filn isn't scheduled right now. With July kinda hard to bump and August being the Summer Under The Stars month ( from 6AM-till 5:59AM next day showcasing one star),it might be till Sept. that they can get a decent tribute together. Ten From Your Show of Shows could be included as it was released to theatres as a feature.

Thank you for sharing that article. Here's a sad little, rather prescient, bit:

“My God, the thought of being without him – the world would be too bleak!” says Reiner, and Brooks’ face falls a little, as if he is envisaging all too clearly a world without Reiner.

Yeah, the kid did OK,too, But remember Carl's wife(and Rob's Mom),Estelle, delivered one of the greatest one liner's in film history:"I'll have what she is having." Wiki lists it # 33 on AFI's Top 100 Quotations. Talented family.
