Killer made it to the final round but not Not For The Innocent? My KISS friends have let me down!

and more, there's at least 10 eliminated tracks that I prefer by a wide margin over Killer

I’m surprised (though delighted) to see that Killer is still in! This is a very solid selection of tracks for the final round. I honestly hope that Saint and Sinner wins this whole thing; it’s one of my favourite songs in general. Voted for:

Creatures of the Night - Familiarity breeds contempt, and I pretty much never need to hear this song again.

Danger - I like it a lot more than I used to, particularly for its pounding rhythm, but the lyrics and falsetto vocals in the chorus are just ridiculous.

War Machine - Good stuff, but it bores me if I’m not in the mood for it.

Exciter - Like it, but I had to make a choice.

Heaven’s on Fire - Good, dumb fun, but definitely not as strong as some of the other songs.

Where did that card come from with The Elder costumes? Is that real? In the second picture Gene is doing a 1974 face. Haven't seen that in a long time.

I think the card border they used to frame that picture is from the 1978 Donruss series of KISS trading cards.

    Excellent.

They said goodbye to their make-up years with one hell of an album, sales or no sales.

A perfect example of when your career is backed into a corner and you have to produce something good in order to turn it around. KISS delivered on this album, even if it didn't sell it stopped the downward trajectory, the word of mouth on it was very good.

Question regarding the next trilogy of albums in the poll series (Asylum/Crazy Nights/Smashes/Hot in the Shade). There are 38 tracks in this set which means 13 first round byes!! Do I just go with the singles? Suggestions.

    Tears are Falling
    Who Wants to be Lonely
    Uh! All Night
    Crazy Nights
    Reason to Live
    Turn on the Night
    X in Sex
    Rise to It
    Forever
    Hide your Heart

that's 10, need three more (King of the Mountain/Betrayed/Hell or High Water?)

Haha just looking at that list of songs hurts my soul. Three that I actually like and one that’s sort of okay... great. I don’t know what to tell you, Deuce. King of the Mountain does seem a fair choice... maybe I’m Alive also? If we saved Hot in the Shade for next time as Dave suggested, would that complicate things at all or work fine?

Hot in the Shade has to be in the next poll...Revenge was a clean break. Plus a poll of just Asylum and Crazy Nights wouldn't really be enough.

All the songs left are decent or better but I regard the following five as a small step below the rest:

    Saint & Sinner
    Danger
    Rock And Roll Hell
    Killer
    War Machine

I would consider myself a bigger fan of Creatures than Lick It Up but interestingly, with the songs that reached the final, the ones from the latter are more consistent, at least to my ears.

The is the result I would like to see:

    1. Exciter
    2. A Million To One
    3. I Love It Loud
    4. Creatures Of The Night
    5. Heaven's On Fire
    6. All Hell's Breaking Loose
    7. Lick It Up

    Great songs all though,

No point trying to evade Hot in the Shade as it falls squarely into the next trilogy, once we get thru (Asylum/Crazy/Smashes/HITS) we'll move on to Revenge/COS/Psycho Circus.

I figured all the later makeup albums would go together. That's why I suggested holding HITS till later.

We'll stick with the chronology, this poll has 1.5 makeup, 2 non. I don't think wearing makeup or not influences their music at all, the musicians who are in the band? yes that has an impact.

Song of the day #3 - Heavens on Fire

This song cemented their return and the tour was their most successful in years with 119 shows, opening acts included Bon Jovi, Queensryche, Krokus, Dokken, WASP

I used to watch the Animalize Live and Uncensored concert over and over. Shame it’s out of print - it’d be nice if the licensing issues could be resolved so that we could see a Blu-Ray release. (Maybe it’ll come out on the Twelfth of Never, along with Kissology 4.)
