His work on (and in) The Dick Van Dyke Show is simply remarkable. One of my favorite
episodes is the one where Laura reveals he is bald on network TV, and his reaction to it
in his office. Still simply hilarious. Here's the complete episode, but the part in his office
starts at the 16:00 mark. (And Mary Tyler Moore is hilarious in this).

And as already mentioned, his work on the Sid Caesar show in the 50's was amazing.
Here's my favorite routine they did, The 3 Haircuts, which was a parody of then current
50's rock and roll groups. Carl, Sid and the remarkable Howard Morris having a blast.
When they're dancing, Carl Reiner is absolutely hilarious.
The funniest show in TV history....

Stuck with me since the day I saw it first-run. That's the power of great comedy.

    He was a comedic genius.

I just watched 'Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid' two nights ago.

One Carl Reiner movie that I rarely see mentioned is The Comic which starred Dick Van Dyke. It's about a silent movie comedian named Billy Bright who is an amalgam of many silent movie comedians. While there is some comedy in the movie, it tends to fall into the more serious category.

    R. I. P. Carl Reiner, the slightly crooked straight man (as he was described in a book about comedians).
