Rewatching Aliens. Doesn't hold up well for me. Except Ripley it's idiot marines and corporate sleazes doing many stupid things over and over.

It has some wonkiness, and it’s a bit like a haunted house movie when it finally gets going. But I think it’s so fondly remembered for the innovations that Cameron and the screenwriters brought to the franchise that are still mined for ideas today.

Great cast. Sets look a bit Gerry Anderson, entertaining non the less.

I voted first 4 Alien films. Sorry Predator never grabbed me (so to speak...)
Do I think Alien 3 and Resurrection are as good as Alien and Aliens? Absolutely not, but some of the plot ideas, visual styling, and action sequences (even the dated CGI of 3) are still better than a lot of new sci-fi. Do we need a new Ripley film? Of course not, but I’d definitely watch it on release.

AVP? that’s rare for this forums appreciation acknowledgment. Seen it when it first came out in 2004. Brilliant I thought!!!

Yeah ! I find it entertaining, and I think what helped it was that it didn't feel it had to find a way to stay too connected to the previous films of both franchises. I liked the pyramid concept and how it would restructure itself and I thought the alien and predator both looked really good throughout.

I enjoyed both AVP movies for what they were. Popcorn munching sci-if.
I paricularly liked it in ' Requiem ' when the kid got face hugged with his dad in the woods. You don't see that often

As much as I rate Predator 2 ..wish Arnie was in it. The climax fight with Danny Glover/Harrigan and the Predator was weak, anticlimactic.

The only two I would watch again would be Alien and Predator. Alien is loads better.

Of the time. Jamaican drug lords were all the rage then.

And Glover was miscast. Too old for the physicality of the part. Denzel was 34 at the time, and would have been much, much more believable.

Denzel’s son John David would actually be a good choice now to lead a new Predator film.

I thought Glover was awesome in the sequel. He did far more against the Predator with far less than the meat head mercs in the first film had.

They really need to bring back Glover’s and Arnold’s characters. There was a novelization in the 90’s that had both characters returning. Can’t believe they haven’t done that onscreen yet.
