The bank is going to rip you off again on the US to Canadian exchange. It’s ridiculous what they get away with.

Yeah, paypal is even worse. Banks, credit cards, paypal all take a cut when converting currency.

They add an extra fee or spread to the exchange rate. It’s a lot more than it should be:cheers:

You need to manually select your credit card as the currency converter for every single transaction. An extra 3 clicks of the mouse but it'll save you from PayPal's ridiculous conversion rates when paying through a credit card in currencies other than CDN.

Can you let us know where that option is as I am about to purchase an expensive item from the UK and a percent or so savings would be helpful. Thx in advance.

If paying by PayPal, immediately underneath your CC will be a blue link called "Conversion Option" or some such (I forget the exact wording). After clicking on that, you can choose to either stick with PayPal or convert using your CC company. PayPal did so as people were setting it up once and PayPal never could get that extra money so they're now doing it so everyone has to manually change it every single time for each transaction. Annoying but not too bad. Kind of underhanded, though.

This thread continues to highlight the lack of good deals on Amazon Canada!

Thanks! Never heard this one so decided to give it a shot.

  13. If I buy something for $100 on Amazon.com and the rate is 1.36, am I paying more than $136? What bank is involved? How much more are they adding?

It's ok, but definitely the weakest of the Sire albums. It was also easily available as a cutout.

The Sire album you want is Shake Some Action.

Did you buy from the $79.83 seller? That is a decent deal, about the same as a couple years ago.

Yes. From World Wide Entertainment. There were two sellers at that price when I bought. WWE had more feedback and a higher rating so I picked them. Hopefully they are legit.

Anyone know what's going on with Amazon.ca lately in terms of pricing? I keep seeing tonnes of deals on .com, .uk, .au on here and almost nothing on .ca. What's even worse is that all vinyl has gone up in price significantly and I don't see those same increases on .com, for instance.
I used to be able to get Tone Poet LPs for $25-30 and Blue Note 80th issues for $20-25. Prices across the board on those seem to have gone up $15-20...crazy!
