I don't think there's four good films there. I can live with Alien, Aliens, and Predator.

There's something oddly satisfying about the ending. I think there was a comic follow up that I never read.

I really do think the original Predator is a masterpiece and one of the better Vietnam metaphors. A masterpiece though it may be, it still get nowhere near Alien, which is just on another level entirely. Probably one of the most brilliantly filmed contributions to cinema.

    Predators?
Yes! There was speculation of a follow up of sorts, think comic myself.

I find Alien sort of overrated till I watch it again. Sure it’s dated ( no doubt adds to the charm) Great suspense film, and then of course the climax. Aliens in comparison is a popcorn movie, great entertainment though!!!

I never rated Alien till I saw it in the cinema. By that point I had probably seen it about 10 times on TV. Seeing it in the cinema it scared the absolute life out of me! Even though I knew what was coming. Fantastic.

Yeah! I seen it in the cinema first.
The only actor I recognized in The Alien by name was John Hurt ( met him once).

Not that bothered with Alien per se.
What concerns me is Predator and the subsequent dilution of the character.

Dated. Like follow up Aliens with the Gerry Anderson sets. Maybe that’s why I love them though. :)

Just picked up the Alien 40th on 4K yesterday it's been years since I last watched it. What a treat in 4K highly recommended.

Watched Predators the other night, great cast ... way better than Shane Black’s The Predator, a better cast may have improved it., probably not.

Actually Robert Rodriquez effort “Predators” ending left an opening for a sequel.I”d have preferred that to The Predator.

The first Predator was a very good movie. Action, with decent subplots. Directing was good as was the filming. Acting: well not much was required. Most characters were not complex.

The first Alien was a better movie in v almost all areas. Acting, directing, etc.

    But, I liked both.

The complaint ten years ago with Predators was the Preds themselves were too small, also all cgi, no outdoor filming.. just stage sets.
    The script was good.

It was a fun movie. I kinda struggled to get through it on a last rewatch. They haven't done a whole lot to make the race of alien hunters more interesting, leading to things like the super-roided out creature in The Predator.

I'm curious as to what people actually like about Prometheus? To me it was a boneheaded movie in about every way. These space scientists descend on the planet and remove their helmets thus getting infected by the creature. Why would they do that? Fassbinder was the only thing saving it from being a total crapfest.

Wasn’t impressed with the super ~ roided Predator myself, actually The Predator (2018) had its moments, Maybe Marvel/Disney bring something interesting to the table in the next Predator film.

Shane Black ( Hawkins )humour ..kept repeating a joke to Billy (Sonny Landham) in the original Predator. Black used a similar boys room locker humour in his own directed The Predator, which came across a little crass, not that funny, don’t think Olivia Munn was amused.
