Things have been way slow for months now, are they gonna get even slower still?
    Sheesh.

Seems odd that USPS is doing so bad when UPS and FedEx are doing an excellent job. If the problem with USPS is Covid, then it would surely be affecting UPS and FedEx.

Yep this story came out about a month ago. I did notice shortly after this report came out it did get worse but it's not horrible. It could get worse even still. I think the post office is holding its own and I will stay with it as opposed to go to UPS and FedEx.

The only thing that concerns me is: what's going to happen if this is still going on when Christmas hits?

I saw that WaPo article on twitter and there were a number of disconcerting responses from USPS workers and spouses, mostly about how they've been ending shifts with mail unsorted and trucks still half (or more) full because of the no OT rules.

Hi All, I bought a copy of Neil Young's Homegrown from Acoustic Sounds. It was shipped on June 23. As others have noted in their experiences it has been bouncing around various USPO distribution centers the last few weeks. Do I have any recourse here if it never arrives? From either Acoustic Sounds or my credit card company? I figure it's probably a waste of time asking the PO to investigate.

I know 24 days is enough to piss us off, but AS and the USPS will both say give it at least 30 days, and that was before the pandemic. As far as your credit card, I have no idea.

I had a First Class pkg. I shipped yesterday afternoon, arrive to the buyer today !!!! It's all a toss up.

I wish I knew what to tell you, I haven't gotten to the point of needing recourse just yet. I'm still waiting for some albums shipped to me on June 3rd to arrive. It took six weeks for them to make it from Long Island to the New Jersey distribution center. The last update I had was from yesterday, where they are allegedly in transit to (presumably) my local distribution center. I'm just happy the tracking is being updated again.

I would say to give it a few more weeks, at least, then reach out to Acoustic Sounds. I can't speak for their procedures, but they may have insurance to deal with on their end and they may be able to send you a new copy, should the need arise.

Good luck though, this has been a really frustrating time to order stuff shipped via USPS.

I was tracking the Bob Dylan "Rough & Rowdy Ways" CD on delivery from Amazon, and it stopped moving once it reached a post office at another zip code in my town. On June 23. But after a few days Amazon declared it lost and sent me another, which arrived quickly.

Depending on how it was sent yes or no. The post office considers something lost after 30 days so you need to at least wait that long. After that the post office suggest the sender apply pressure. Not sure if the sender would be motivated to do that. If you purchased it from eBay or PayPal and tell them that you never received it and there is proof of that they can refund you. You may see movement again on it so just sit tight for a little longer than after a month you can weigh our options then.

I see why some people use Amazon.

Are you really being that obstinate to knowing who UPS and FedEx are spending ("donating") their profits on getting into positions where they can doom the Post Office?

The problem with USPS isn't Covid...it's because they are pledged to make sure ballots get delivered...and "somebody" doesn't want that. For-profit couriers smell opportunity.

You know that, or you wouldn't pretend that you don't.

Just received a shipping notification from DHL of an Amazon order that has shipped from Germany. Thing is, looking at my Amazon purchase history, I don't see any outstanding items that I haven't already received, except for some pre-orders that aren't due yet. Surely the new X album isn't coming from Germany?

This isn't a known scam is it?

I bought a somewhat rare record and USPS had it going in a big circle around the region when it actually came from a much shorter distance.I can’t wait to see if it arrives baked and warped.

Impressive that they would go to the ends of the earth to fullfil the order.

I had records ordered July 9 from Philadelphia (less than two hours away from my door) and tracking has just said “accepted” at the Philly PO for the past week and nothing more. Love the idea of these records sitting in a hot post office for days on end. I would have been much better off driving to Philly and back to get them.

I know you are all on pins and needles, but sadly I still haven't received my order that was shipped on June 3rd. After the six weeks it took to make it from Long Island to New Jersey, I was really happy to finally see movement again. But now no updates in six days, and just this message:

"Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. It is currently in transit to the next facility."

    No s**t.

BTW DHL tracking seems to work better than the other carriers' services, especially the ease with which one can add delivery instructions, door codes, and such.

My international package got to the US about 2 months ago, and it finally just now started moving within the US postal system.
That's an insane amount of time, but at least it's not lost.
