There are some jewels coming and can't wait for them to be officially announced. But that's up to Joe and his team to share.
Well that and it keeps some of us from buying other versions of albums and then finding out a few weeks later that a TP is coming out that we are going to wind up buying as well!
Pretty sure I remember "instagram hints" from Harley, indicating Harold Vick's Steppin' Out and Hubbard's Breaking Point are on the way. No year attached, but those were definitely mentioned earlier in the thread. (Long time lurker, first time poster, here).
Good question, i haven't looked at any other titles, i'll have to check what is in the matrix of some others. I would think with the volume they are pressing, there may be more stamper numbers.
I finally got round to buying the Tina Brooks & Kenny Burrell TP's. Now I get why you're all raving about them.
Ha! Happened to me right after I bought the Cisco of "One Flight Up"...was telling Joe about it one day before he announced it was going to be a Tone Poet title and he said don't get to use to it, mine is on the way. Trust me, I always ask now before buying any title that could have a chance of being chosen for the series. Lesson learned...
Indeed. So far I have Black Fire, Etc, Live At the Village Vanguard, Born To Be Blue, Comin' Your Way and The Prisoner. My Bank Manager is very unhappy with me.
I don't think Joe will be touching any of those for now. I know he said at the start he did not want to duplicate those...
Wow! I can't believe Art Blakey's A Night in Tunisia is coming to Tone Poet in 2021. Thanks for passing this incredible news along, Scotti!!
I’ve been there brother. And I remain there. Falling in love with jazz is one thing. Knowing a ton of them are going out of print and expensive (ala Music Matters, AP, OG’s) is tough but the break in Tone Poets helped a bit. Two Blue Notes and 8 jazz records in total in my stable 18 months ago. Now? Best I can tell about 250 and 140 Blue Notes. Enjoy the ride!
