Really nice. I Also have a BH Crack with Speedball, and a BH Eros phono pre.

 

Looking on the Vinyl Nirvana site it shows the Thorens TD-145 with auto shut off. I'm interested in this TT due to it having auto shut off. How does the TD-145 compare to the TD-160?

I contacted Dave at Vinyl Nirvana about a month ago and he responded to that email. I've sent three emails inquiring further about the Thorens TD-145 and have yet to receive a reply to those emails. Has anyone else had this issue?

I'm picking up a Thorens TD-145 from Dave tomorrow. It's in real nice shape and more importantly totally gone through by Dave. I lusted after Thorens TTs back in the day but they were never in my budget. I can't wait to set it up and spin some of my favorite vinyl .

 

You're going to love it, Bill. Dave does an outstanding job and mine looked better in person than any picture that I'd seen. Sounds pretty darn good, too.

 

Yep have had mine come all the way to Australia and thankfully all worked out fine! Worth buying one from Dave in mint condition.Nothing left to do put put on a record

Apologies for not getting back. Just saw your post. That device is a DIY switch for toggling between turntables. The Thorens is my mono TT.

 

No problem. It looks nice.

 

I picked up the TD-145 last week and it's a beauty! It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Dave. The fact that I live a short drive from him was great so no shipping was needed. Met Dave at his place and was introduced to his new "outdoor showroom" (Dave will get the humor) . I got the TD-145 setup with no issues and at first was concerned as the sound was kind of muffled. Then I realized that my Parasound 2100 preamp was set to "MC" and not "MM". Once that setting was changed the sound quality was much improved. The TD-145 works perfectly and looks like it's brand new! It's so cool to have the TD-145 on the top shelf of my rack. The vintage look and build quality is exactly what I was looking for .

I haven't had much time to listen to the TD-145. But I broke out a brand new copy of Marshall Tucker's S/T album mastered by Kevin Gray. I listened to both sides and the album sounds excellent! I hope to be able to spin more vinyl as soon as time allows.

I highly recommend Dave (Vinyl Nirvana) for anyone looking to buy a vintage Thorens or AR turntable. He is extremely knowledgeable and was quick to answer any questions I had. My next step is to upgrade the Grado Black2 stylus to the 8MZ stylus. Traveling back in time spinning vinyl and loving it !

 

I went to like this, but already had, so I’m double liking it. Beautiful.
