(about Peter Gabriel 3 and 4 in german) Actually they were part of the remaster series, but only on vinyl and hires download, not on Cd. They got remastered and reissued in 2016.
Although they never made a proper album it would be great if someone would gather all of Way Of West's 7" & 12" releases for a cd compilation. I have all but 1 or 2 extended mixes of their songs on a needle drop cd I put together. They were a very good post-punk/ new wave band from the mid 80's and I would love to have nice, clean versions of their songs available
I have that Up The Creek on vinyl for The Beach Boys track...not listened in some time but I remember it was dreadful!
Jimi Hendrix - Nine to the Universe. Released march 1980 the only Alan Douglas album that never saw official cd release
Sunrise by Jimmy Ruffin. From 1980, this album, produced by Robin Gibb and Blue Weaver, was his short-lived comeback album. Featuring the Top 10 hit "Hold On to My Love," the LP's rights are owned by the estate of Robin Gibb. Even the hit song is almost impossible to find on CD. If a legit CD ever showed up, it could include two bonus tracks: the instrumental version of "Hold On to My Love," which was the B-side of the 45, and the epic Disconet remix of "Hold On to My Love," which lived on in the clubs many years after the song had been a hit on the radio.
Just mentioned it in another thread yesterday: Chuck Mangione - Tarantella Aside from Mangione's usual band, this album also features contributions from Chick Corea, Dizzy Gillespie, Lew Soloff, Steve Gadd and Chuck's brother Gap.
It is not even close.. I believe the % of albums that flopped and never got a 2nd pressing in the 70s was between 80% and 90% That is why record companies needed to make a killing on the rare occasion they got a hit - and still were not among the most profitable businesses to run.
I thought we were discussing 80's albums not released on CD. Second pressings on vinyl is a different topic. Here's a list of releases from 1979 - 1979 in music - Wikipedia . I don't think I'd be wrong to say the vast majority have been released on CD.
That is a list of notable releases. Best info I am seeing is that the number of albums released each year grew steadily from 4,000 in 1970 to over 30,000 by 1990. Almost all by artists nobody on this forum or in charge of picking music to reissue on CD would ever had heard of.

The Burrito Brothers - Sunset Sundown and Hearts On The Line. been on a “Refried” Flying Burrito Brothers kick lately and these are the only 2 not available on CD
Van Stephenson's Righteous Anger has been on CD in Japan, also commanding big bucks. John Schneider's Now Or Never had been on CD for a while on John's website, no longer there anymore.
Concerts for the People of Kampuchea A great collection of what was happening in music in 1980-81, Clash, Costello, Ian Dury, Rockpile, Pretenders, Queen, and of course, new Who brew to get you through. An embarrassment of riches.
