I also found the movie to be a big disappointment. I heard how great it was and then... meh.

I thought maybe I'd like it more when I watched again and had lower expectations but... meh.

Probably watched it 2-3 more times since then and always... meh.

My review calls it "enjoyable but uninspired", and that still sounds about right:

Class after class of ugly children! - Superintendent Chalmers

(to be honest this pops into my head whenever people show photos of their kids) :hide:

I saw it once the weekend that it was released in 2007 and as I am writing this I think its right about the 13th anniversary of that. I was 14 at the time and I remember liking it for what it was. Could it be better sure but look at the state of the series at that point it was past its best though it was better than it was between Season 10-12 which was the utter worst period of the show I truly despise that 3 season run so much. I think the movie needed Hank Scorpio as the villain and not some new character. I mean they had Albert Brooks and the movie would have been the best place to bring back Scorpio and it would have made the movie so much better than it was.

I recently listened to the commentary of the movie and they said for a brief time Scorpio was Brook's character but Brooks himself felt it was a bad idea. I don't remember if they said why he felt that way. I thought the movie was much better than the previous seasons before it; 17 & 18 were quite a dip from 13 - 16. 13 & 14 I think are two of the best post 90's seasons.

They did have a bit of a revival after that crappy ending to the '90s and start to the '00s. I think its been extremely inconsistent since the mid-00s and more miss than hit but they can still produce a good episode every now and then but its a once in a blue moon type thing. As for Brooks saying its a bad idea I can't say I agree with him though he probably has his reason for it but its fairly clear that most fans would be in favor of Scorpio being in the movie.

What happens in this sequence is so incorrect scientifically - it makes it even funnier!

Technically, it's, "Classrooms filled with ugly, ugly children!" One of my favorite lines too, for sure.:cool:

It would have to be Groundskeeper Willie auditioning for "The B-Sharps" by signing Petula Clark's "Downtown", but in his typical Scottish accent.

Thanks for posting. I don't believe I've seen that episode. But that Groundskeeper Willie rant was hysterical!

I think its the episode were Milhouse and his Mom move to Capital City and while he is away Bart and Lisa essentially become best friends which I find screws with continuity given Bart & Lisa had more often than not been presented as having a fairly close relationship

I can't recall the episode. Paraphrasing from memory:

[Corporate flack guiding a factory tour] A percentage of profits are donated to charity.

    [Lisa] What percentage?

    [Corporate flack] Zero….. (defensive tone) zero’s a percent!….
