I was told it closed permanently. I wish they would reopen but someone told me they took the signage down. :(

I don't buy vinyl. I primarily use eBay. Recently I've been using the record store but their selection is limited. I looked at Bullmoose and Music Direct and their selections were limited. I'll have to look into Acoustic Sounds.

As far as the ads here they leave them up till I guess the end of time. I do see that some have listed them as ended. I contacted a couple different sellers and they never responded. So I'm not going to bother with sellers here. There are sellers on eBay that's advertised best offer and if they don't respond to me I don't buy their CDs either. I did buy one CD from Discogs and I may start buying from them more.

They had a lot of strip mall locations. Maybe those won't come back, but some of their stores still are on-line on Amazon.

I went on their Facebook page and a former employee complained that the management said not to worry we will support you and your jobs and benefits are secured. They said about a month later out of the blue 2000 employees were sent a mass email and summarily laid off.

Shame that such a descent company will cut and run or cutback so much that it will become a shadow of it's former self.

Guess that's just the way things are going these days.

My whole industry shut down in March. Concerts/events. I work 9 venues, all are closed.

Amazon Aus is a great for buying vinyl ...especially when they have specials. I buy a ton of vinyl from them. I also like the fact that if there's anything wrong with it - so simple to exchange or get refunded. I also find Vinyl Destination a great place to buy vinyl within Australia as well as Discrepency Vinyl; though DV are more expensive - service and packaging is A1.

I'm not a vinyl guy so Amazon hasn't been a good hunting ground for me. The CD prices on Amazon are kind of stupid for both Amazon stock and third party sellers. I stopped checking Amazon last year because of it.

Amazon has been going downhill for years. Their charges on third party sellers are ridiculous (would make £3 on an £8 CD). Only good as far as specials offers go.

    What's up with Moviemars.com?
    1. They don't send confirmation email
    2. Your personal order # is like 40 characters long
    3. No way to check status on order.

If I ever DO receive the CD I ordered from them, it will probably be my final order.
Anyone else like or dislike Moviemars.com???

 I've never not received a CD I've purchased from them throughout the years.

I used to buy through Decluttr a lot, but several factors slowed my purchasing through them. I have received far too many substandard CDs, including: badly scratched CDs, wet booklets or tray cards, writing in booklets, incorrect titles and CDs omitted from the order, though charged to me. Not to mention that they won't buy CDs with sawcuts, drill holes, promo stamps or imprints or punched upcs, though I've had my share of purchases turn out to be promos, which is not an issue unless they turn out to be @#$%! CDRs.

One other issue is their frequent dumping of multiple CDs in a padded envelope, a guaranteed way to crack jewel boxes and digipaks as they get banged around in media mail. Any intelligent seller either binds CDs together with extra padding before putting them into a padded envelope, or better still, a cardboard box. Also, padded envelopes are notorious for getting torn open, whether by machinery or crooks, so I don't recommend using them for even single CDs anymore.

Even worse, if the defective CD is over $9 or $10, they ask for its return, with the postage receipt enclosed. I had problems for months trying to get them to refund postage, even though I had a duplicate receipt printed at the USPS. It was only leaving negative reviews on line that finally got their attention.

Since their website can not be searched by label, it makes it more cumbersome to use. Their prices are often ridiculous, I've seen out of print CDs listed for $99 that can be found elsewhere on line for $15-$20 at the most.

Buy from them with caution and take photos of everything in case you have to return purchases, be sure to get a duplicate postage receipt.

When I have checked their purchase offers, they have rarely been more than $3 for a CD and it is often under $1.

Of this list, I've used Acoustic Sounds, Mobile Fidelity, and Music Direct - all have been positive experiences (although I feel AS has been a bit off recently). I'd add Elusive Disk as a good place to buy on-line from.

Acoustic Sounds have been atrocious with my two orders.
Placed one a couple of years ago and was cancelled as they said I never replied to their emails, which I did, and I replied with screenshots of their emails I had replied to and they didn't care.
Second order still battling over, placed on the 4th April this year and they have tried to charge my card twice, and the first charge was not an authorisation as the money has been taken and is still out 11 days later. Order has been placed on hold for declined card transaction, like I want to pay twice for the same stuff?
    Ridiculous.

I'll see how they do with the new Hendrix UHQR LP (my order is still back-ordered). I did cancel my previous AS order for some other lps as too many delays.
