Which solo Beatles songs do you think that, if they were released by The Beatles, would have a reputation as one of The Beatles' best tracks (e.g. Eleanor Rigby, Strawberry Fields Forever, etc.)*?

I think Paul's Little Willow would definitely be one. I can see this attaining "Blackbird" status if it was released in 1968.

Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey and My Sweet Lord are the first two that come to mind but that may just be because they’re among my favorite Beatles solo songs anyway.

If Maybe I'm Amazed was on Abbey Road then this forum would be dominated by posts arguing which love song on Abbey Road was the best: Something or Maybe I'm Amazed.

Nice thread idea....I do have to disagree with Little Willow, however, but that's nothing with nothing.

Over at the Lennon song-by-song thread the ratings indicated that ' Instant Karma' was his best solo song.
But if it had been a Beatles track it wouldn't have the same flavour to it.
And I think this is the case with many of the solo songs. They are absolutely the product of the individual Beatle.

A full half of Sir Paul’s 70s singles. Just too good.

'The Back Seat Of My Car' would've been another great Abbey Road track, IMO.
And it's a crime 'Junk' and 'Child Of Nature' ('Jealous Guy') didn't get a chance for being on the White Album.

Imagine is the obvious pick. Heck, it might be as popular as any Beatles song. But I think tunes like Maybe I'm Amazed and Band on the Run would have had a puncher's chance at being among the most popular Beatles songs.

It Don’t Come Easy would be considered Ringo’s best Beatles track. And it almost is...

Maybe I’m Amazed is the only solo song worthy of being a Beatles song.

Completely true. Maybe I'm Amazed would have been one of the Beatles Top 5 all time best selling singles.

While I'm a fan of My Sweet Lord, Instant Karma, and It Don't Come Easy, two of those are Harrison songs and the Lennon song is not of the quality of Maybe I'm Amazed.
