skunk baxter, joe walsh, john entwistle and others in a supergroup called 'the best'. toured japan in the 70's why have i never heard anything about this until today? there is also a few other clips on you tube of this band.....my my my
Awesome! TIL I can't tell who's on keys but Simon Phillips is on drums. This video looks to early 90's
I have the DVD and CD from the show - probably gray market stuff but excellent quality both released in 2011. I had a boot video around 1991 taped off Japanese TV.
A guy named Rick Livingstone - no idea where he came from. Passable singer. Three brothers named Richardson provided backing vocals.
Is it just me or does Joe Walsh, even by rock star standards, have a bizarre and slightly disastrous taste in stagewear?!?!?
No, not 1970's. I saw 'em in Honolulu 1990. A year after I'd seen Entwistle and Simon Phillips on the '89 Who tour. found my ticket : they left Skunk off the box-cover.
Wow. I feel ashamed as an Entwistle and Emerson fan that I don't know about this group. Plus Baxter and Walsh? Sheesh, what a dream team!
here's another one for you all: also in 1990: joe walsh was in a band from new zealand called 'herbs".....played on one album (the whole album) called 'homegrown'. info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herbs_(band) and there are a couple of video's on you tube, but the album is nowhere to be found (at least by me)
