New to me... was from my brother-in-law... McIntosh MHA-100 Several threads back cover the speakers location... I know it is far from optimal, but bottom line, can’t move them for now.
Congrats on your new amp! Googled it and it's a great headphone amp from what I've read if you're a can guy.
It’s a solid performer all around but I really like the way they handle the low end. Tightens things up with my current speaker setup.
Using it with those speakers you see in the photo and it moves them well without issues.... a few folks shared some concerns with the combination...but that was put to rest as soon as I started playing tunes... I am really not a headphones person... those that you see in the photo, are my first over the ears headphones ever in my life... got them just a few weeks ago. I have been working late and was missing having music.... now I can listen without waking up the rest of the family. It is funny how I went from working with complete silence to now (after the pandemic started and I went to work from home) not able to work without listen to vinyl....
The visible part of my system:- Wharfedale Elysian 4, Hegel H390, ProJect RPM10.1, Primare R35, Matrix Audio Element M, Roon Nucleus.
Yeah, I hear you. Some day. I don't mind a couple of the ones with the raw look. The bass traps definitely need to be wrapped though. Roxul ain't itchy though, fyi.
That is really stunning and the tasteful lighting really enhances it. Those Elysians look like monsters I can imagine it sounds great. And love the rock wall and your credenza too!
@bajaed fell in love with them the moment I saw them. Thankfully they sound as good as they look. Articulate with great scale and weight. Bags load of detail without being too strident.
I wanted to list the final setup now that it is done. And a final photo. Turntable: VPI Scoutmaster Refurbish, Prime Signature Motor (300 rpm), Prime Aluminum (20 lbs) Platter and Bearing, Delrin Record Clamp, JMW 9 3D Arm, Upgraded Classic Feet, Periphery Ring Clamp Pre Amp: Pro-Ject Phono Box DS Cartridge: Sumiko Blue Point #2 High Output Moving Coil Amp: McIntosh MHA-100 CD Player: Sony UBPX-700 4K Blu-Ray Player Speakers: Bowers & Wilkins 684 Headphones: Meze 99 Neo Power Management: Panamax MR5100 Power Management with Surge Protection and Power Conditioning Rack: Solidsteel S3-4 I know that a lot of components might not be optimal, but it is working for me. I am a newbie so I do not know what I do not know... and as they say, ignorance is a bliss And yes, I know that the speaker's location is not correct, but for now, I can't move them.
Those are set as far forward I can go so that someone opening the door on the right, would not smash the door into them.... I even had to put a door stopper on the hinge to avoid someone accidentally smashing the door into them.
Hey, as long as YOU enjoy what you are hearing then your equipment and set-up are both just what you need at this point. Enjoy the music and don't sweat the details.
Could you show us the rest of the room? Perhaps someone has an idea. I totally get suboptimal placement because sometimes there are other considerations. Nice setup.
Thank you! I spent quite a while pondering what color to go with. I wanted something that would be light/airy during daylight and relaxing/soft at night. I am really happy with the color I chose.
