I did. All hand work for those. There are some imperfections when you get close. But at listening position? Purrrrfect.

Don't hate me, but the Fisher is presently stashed away in the closet for the time being. The Spendors are happier paired with my Rega Brio-R; the low-powered Fisher just doesn't have enough oomph.
It's been a while since I posted a photo, I replaced my chunky coffee table with a smaller one. Pretty pleased with the outcome:
You know, it suddenly occurred to me this morning that the last time I found the Fisher 'unsatisfying' was when the power tubes were going south, so I just ordered a new quad this morning. The previous set was JJ's, which sounded fine to me, but admittedly have a mixed reputation. Now I see why, they lasted less than a year. I will be trying Sovtek EL84M's this time. I have a feeling the Fisher/Spendor will be back together soon.
My first tube stereo amp (Dynaco SCA-35) came with new EL-84Ms, I bought it from a good friend whose EE buddy had gone thru it and replaced the output tubes with them. Not bad for $100 including the new tubes! Used it for ... 5+ years over several internal upgrades/DIY mods and I think they were still going strong when I sold it (for >$100). At least it still sounded great driving my Triangle Titus 202 speakers. Seems like a good thing to try anyway with the Fisher. Maybe it's hard on output tubes? I'm not a vintage 'expert' by any means. BTW, nice vintage guitars too! My first guitar was a 'Roy Rogers' small-scale kid's guitar, I think it had a pressed fiberboard top and way-cool graphics. I think it's worth a few bucks, wish I still had it (not for the $$$ but nostalgia). Not sure the bass is vintage but looks good as well.
$100??? DAMN, SON! That's very good to know. The first set of output tubes I used - '80s Reflektors - probably lasted 4 or 5 years of daily use. The JJ's went in probably last August, and the amp is already sounding anemic. I had taken it out of service in maybe May or June (no AC in the house), and I fired it up a couple of days ago and immediately noticed it sounded thin/harsh vs. the Brio-R. It took me a day or two to remember that was the same symptoms it had when the Reflektors were pooping out. Thank you! That's my '64 Kay Speed Demon - a marvelous guitar. I also have a super-clean '62 Gretsch Tennessean and some other nice guitars, but I have the most fun playing the Kay. The bass is an el cheapo Squier ($50 on CL with with a Fender Rumble 15 amp) that I modded.
Made a minor change to my room today, but I'm pretty happy with it... Looked like this: but I moved the fender and orange amps... I moved them to make a little "Sound Alter"... Fender Twin now here...the orange in another part of the shed. upload images and get url
I got the SCA-35 around 1995 from a friend who likely got it at a flea market? So even at $100 he might have made a couple bucks? Maybe his friend had a bunch of new EL84Ms or something and just put them in there? Donno, but yeah seems like a steal now. That bass and amp for $50 ain’t bad either! Funny, reminds me of the first and only bass I have ever bought. It was a short scale Fender style knock off with a homemade tube amp and 12” POS cabinet for $50 as well. This was around 1974. Long story but I later took the bass body, attached a Teisco guitar neck to it, bought some Fender Humbucking pickups and a Gibson tune-o-magic bridge and stop piece ... actually played this in a couple of garage bands. Fun stuff.
