Yellowstone - 2018 Western series Kevin Costner

Season three's ending was dramatic and a little too over the top for my tastes. I guess they felt the need to match last season's high-powered showdown, but it just didn't have the same tone for me.

 

They went for a Surefire Cliffhanger! I often have mixed feelings when storytelling goes overboard en the writer want tot go for the effect. That's why it dawned to me this isn't a 'adventure series'; it's a well-made soap.

 

Eventually they always do.

 

I was stunned to see that Rip Wheeler is played by Cole Hauser. Talk about a transformation. I couldn't recognize him.

 

Why does everyone love Rip?

Between wanting to kill Walker (who is a relatively good guy) and visiting his mother's rotting corpse, he just seems like a very deranged guy.

So he's perfect for Beth I guess

 

I think that's the smart part of the series! He's a psychopath who probably killed lots of people, but ah, it's so sweet when he gets all shy when Beth wants to marry him.

 

He's the best character for me. He is definitely a bad guy but then he had been nurtured that way from being taken in by John at a young age. You can tell that he has morals, repsects hard work etc and has a soft side which he has to keep hidden from the other ranchers.

Definitely a well written character and Cole Hauser really nails the role.

Looking forward to S4.

 

He's the classic anti hero like Tony Soprano, Walter White, Jack Bauer, Vic Mackey, etc.

Finally have access to this, and just finished season one. Loving it !

There is supposed to be a (free???) marathon of all 3 seasons streaming on the Paramount Network starting today (December 26th) thru Sunday. Paramount Network

 

Is the Paramount network available in HD in the USA? It’s not available in HD through my Cable provider. The picture quality is a lot better with the iTunes version than what’s airing now on Paramount.

in a truly emmy worthy performance in my humble opinion.

Cole Hauser is on the Dec 2 episode of The Russillo Podcast. Lots of interesting Yellowstone talk. Russillo is how I first heard of this show. He’s been saying been all year that it’s the best show on tv.

Why did no one tell me how good this show is? I bingewatched all three seasons and now I can't wait for the fourth.
