It’s not a movie, so, tangential to this thread, but Jarmusch made a cameo appearance as himself on an episode of Pamela Anderson’s syndicated series V.I.P., of all things.

Tom Cruise in Young Guns. They mention in the commentary that he was friends with some of the actors. They threw a hat and a big mustache on him. I believe he’s the first “bad guy” killed at the last gunfight when they start coming out of the house. He enters the frame, camera cuts away then cuts back as he’s shot out of the frame. It’s my favorite movie trivia question to use on people.

I know you're not serious, but here's an article about the whole "Elvis in Home Alone" myth. The extra whom people believe resembled Elvis is Gary R. Grott, who passed away in 2016. Grott was only 41 at the time of the film, so he was substantially younger than Elvis would have been if still alive.

David Crosby, of all people, has 3, count em, 3 different cameos: Hook, Thunderheart, and Crossing the Bridge.

I recognized him each time due to his ... unique appearance.

Frank had basically the same cameo a few years later in Trading Places as a cop who inventories Dan Aykroyd's possessions at the jail.

What about Martin Scorcese as a passenger in a taxi in 'taxi driver'?

and yeah, sadly, I don't think (follow the links above) that it is Jack Benny in Casablanca.

Duke Ellington makes a cameo in 'Anatomy of a Murder' if i remember correctly.

Bob Dylan as 'alias' in Pat garrett and billy the kid (and also of course did the soundtrack, with the song 'knockin on heaven's door)

Truman Capote in "Annie Hall" (as someone on the street outside)
and its credited, so not really a cameo, but Paul Simon in that film too. Oh and the guy in the LA party who forgets his matra is jeff goldblum and annie's brother is christopher walken
