Sylvester Stallone is working on it and he says that Paulie's robot is going to the junkyard. I'm looking forward to it. Sylvester Stallone Says Director's Cut of 'Rocky IV' Coming for Film's Anniversary | Hollywood Reporter
ROBOT: good riddance...although I do love Paulie! who doesn't love that guy?...no robot less Paulie time. ; )
Is there any chance Stallone can make this random collection of music videos into a real movie? "Rocky IV" isn't the worst of the franchise and it's oddly entertaining in its submoronic way. Weird that Stallone wants to revisit it 35 years later. I'll be curious to see what he does with it!
It's definitely my favorite in the entire series. And I love all the others! I will be the first in line to enjoy this celebratory cut, but I must admit I'm at a loss as to why Stallone feels that removing Paulie's robot will positively or negatively make any difference in a new cut, aesthetically or substantially. Did the thing appear nude or something in the original print and now wants more royalties?
I love it for the cheese factor. My god that soundtrack is incredible. Driving around Philly late at night with “No Easy Way Out” pumping on my stereo gives me goosebumps..
Indeed. To this day, I think that soundtrack album is up there with any "real album" by any classic artist! I still play the thing from front to back fairly regularly.
Directors Cut; I really don't like when they REMOVE content from the movie...I guess Sly felt it wasn't needed or had no purpose? I'm wondering what else he removed?
I would greatly appreciate it if Sly could make sure that the dvd has a separate commentary track from the musicians' side of the opus - we neeeed the thoughts of Robert Tepper, all members of Survivor, John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band...
George Lucas would approve. I don't see the point. What if Sly hates Rocky's beard, or Drago's scene with the needle? May be He should reshoot the whole movie...Everybody could change! Actually, flaws and all, I did enjoy the movie.
Thanks for the info, one of my brothers was an extra with decent screen time during Rocky's speech in the ring at the end, so he'll be interested.
I thought I have seen this movie many times, but I had no idea there was a robot in it. Apparently I haven't watched the whole thing before.
