As someone without much of a jazz collection to speak of, this is pretty appealing. It's not going to do any good to speculate since it's all shrouded in mystery, but I would think the worst case scenario is that these are all a bunch of cheap European public domain issues. Best case, it could be a treasure trove.

I've heard of Zavvi. Pretty sure they're legit. I agree with the poster above that these are likely grey market euro releases.

I'm tempted though. $40 plus $5.49 to ship to Canada for 10 classic jazz LPs.

Checking on other uk sites, there are a lot of LPs on the DOL label that are bluenote albums including a lot of the albums used to promote the zavvi offer

They're all sourced from CDs and they do not pay royalties. DOL and WaxTime are offering records to a market that thinks it must be better because it is on vinyl.

I'm not sure what the value of $4/album for public domain copies on vinyl. They take a CD, use that as a "master" for a cheap vinyl pressing.

So, best case, you add noise and inconvenience.

I guess if you don’t own a CD player?

    That’s all I got.

That could be what these are, yes. Or like I said, they could be leftover De Agostini stock which were generally considered to be consistently stunning pressings and a bargain at £15 each. We don't know yet. But I thought it was worth a punt.

I'm 99% certain they will be De Agostini overstocks as they are sat in the same warehouse as all the Eaglemoss stock that Zavvi are also advertising, same supplier so it looks like Zavvi have done a deal to clear out a lot of their warehouse.

Just got mine, it is indeed De Agostini!

My selection was very similar to Dr Robert's, Charlie Haden - Liberation Music Orchestra and one more instead of Mulligan/Ella & Louis. I just listened to Getz/Gilberto and it sounds very good to me. Might be that the variation is limited, but for someone who didn't have any of these records before, what a deal..

Bloom You're embarrassing me in front of the wizards

People that are getting theirs are confirming these are not Wax Time but in fact all the great De Agostini overstock presses.

I’m not TOO terribly upset as I already own all the ones listed but for the price, I am kicking myself for not ordering regardless. Congrats to those of you who got in on this deal! Amazing!!!
