Always love live shows so will definitely be grabbing this box set on CD.

Interestingly the live shows are all consecutive nights so will be interesting to see the differences in performances.

    Well alright now.

Schenker's opinion is, is that they didnt pick the best songs for the original album release.
Now we'll get to find out.

That price seems a bit high for 7 cds.
269 pounds, thats 350 bucks, 50 bucks a cd? Yeesh...

Funny...I copied it also for fear it would vanish. Interesting placement of "Too Hot To Handle" in the Columbus show...

    Weird.

US Amazon has this listed at $223 for the cd.
It also has it coming out August 21, but no mention of how many disks.
It also has the full track listing still up.

Edit: apparently in the US only up for MP3 pre-order at this time.
55 bucks, to be released October 23.

Great stuff, but brickwalled again... just like the deluxe edition of Phenomenon.

Who needs 7 discs? A 3 or 4 CD edition would be enough.... I pass.

I love UFO, but this trend for mega bucks box sets is steadily killing off the general availability, and thus the longer visibility of classic acts. It really is ‘money for old rope’. For someone who may have multiple formats/editions of a title like ‘Sowing the Seeds of Love ‘ or the debut ROXY MUSIC, to have access to a desirable Surround mix only available in a pricey box set is really a low act.
It is trite to say , just don’t buy it.
A reasonably priced reissue will put more in a pension fund than the pennies a stream may produce.
Look at the example of Jethro Tull, Marillion, Gentle Giant.
Love ya Moggy, but this is a no from me.

  14. Oh no - you already know for sure it is brickwalled?
EDIT: Or are you just guessing?

Ofcourse Schenker is going to complain about the original release...he is a guitarist afterall! These mega delux boxes rarely ever justify the investment, but UFO were no ordinary band, and Schenker was/is an incredible talent. That being said, this seems a bit overkill.

Of course he doesn't this is his standard M.O. when a new release is touted :-/

  18. Being also a huge Black Sabbath fan, and not having gotten any really new live material from their prime from them for many years, I am nothing but happy about the fact that UFO have a different policy.

Well as much as it is overkill I'm in big time. Love UFO and this is their magnum opus and as much as I may not need 7 versions of the same set (almost) I definitely want 7 versions!!

Not sure if Strangers would make my top 10 live albums, but definitely top 20. That might sound a bit demeaning, but its not intended to be. Its a great album, and as studio UFO was always a bit spotty, this is a nice condensed version of their prime material.
