Hey man, lemme tell ya.. it is the most awesome whiskey under $45 I’ve ever found. My staples are Macallan 15, Glenfiddich 14, Glenlevit first fill 12, Bunnahabhain 18.. you can’t beat the stoutcask for a $25-29 bottle! A little sweet, I like an ice chip in it. Vanilla, cream, pepper, oak... it’s amazing.
Lol.. in truth these photos are in the wrong thread lol. I pop in here all the time to drool at systems, but over in the cocktail/listening thread it’s common to post what your eating, drinking and listening to. I put these photos in the wrong thread but appreciate the comments.
Ha I thought that at first I usually post pics in What's For Dinner but I'm guessing those are What Are You Eating Right Now. Looks good either way food, music, and booze all the essentials!
I'll right...I see you! You just showing out now.....you must want me to join you with the Single Malt.
Thanks....Ill keep this for the right time. I've had The Stout Edition...but The Blenders Dog is much better....But my Favorite is The Glenlevit.
I like my Single Malt straight up...but Macallan always require a chip or 2. I love Glenlevit and my all time favorite.....The Balvenie Caribbran Cask 14 .
For the past 20 years the first thing I've always played on any new gear has always been something by Pink Floyd. For better or worse. Because some gear does need to burn in before it sounds its best. So sometimes that means I end up listening to Pink Floyd at less than ideal playback performance and sound quality. But that's generally a risk I'm willing to take. Because I've just listened to Pink Floyd on new gear and life is good. So for me the answer to that question is always going to be Pink Floyd. Always.
Thanks for the reply. Really helps. Some photos of the EL84...it's really difficult to resist when all these options are still available...these photos were taken 2 year ago, last time I went to the store Mullards and Brimar were gone...better to stock some of this. I trimmed my options to the AN OTO signature and the TriodLab EL84TT MKII ...completely different looks but both feel special in its own way. I don't think I will have a problem with the OTO volume control using LS3/5a... cheers
In addition to the Otos I used to have, I still own two EL84 amplifiers, a Leben CS300SX and a Shindo Montile. The MQ-88uC with current production KT88 tubes sounds better then either of these amps running NOS Mullard EL84s. I preferred it to the Oto Signature as well. So I would focus on which amp is better vs. which NOS power tube is available. If you want to add an EL84 amp just for fun as a second amp, I'd look at the Kingko which is relatively inexpensive and made right there in Hong Kong.
My bedroom system: Yamaha CR620, bought at a thrift store, I cleaned it, LED's, power supply caps, etc. Philips 212 Sony D-5? (got it '84) iirc Celestion speakers used mostly fr FM...and Barry White
