I love John in several movies

    1) Whos Harry Crumb? - 1989
    2) Nothing but trouble - 1991
    3) Uncle Buck - 1989
    4) Home Alone - 1990

Uncle Buck still makes me laugh no matter how many times I watch it and we get a Beau Brummels song to boot! great stuff......love that movie and everything John has been in...

it was funny but the underlying Story was quite sad...a beautiful movie.

on another note; funny Uncle Buck had more morals than his brother and wife...John was excellent in that one.

Buck is definitely a moral, sympathetic character. But Del Griffith is almost an angel in disguise.

    Belushi was Farley's hero.

Thanks to this thread, I'm reminded how much I loved the big guy too. Have a lot of DVDs, and Blu rays, but dug a little deeper into my Amazon Prime, and have now added to my watchlist :

Good Idea (1975 film I've never seen)
    The David Steinberg Show (1977)
The Tonight Show w/Johnny Carson ( Comic Legends Of The 80s themed )

I still miss the guy and wonder what he'd be starring in now. He was so skilled at mixing his great comedic talents with pathos, I just adored him and could watch anything he appeared in.

Just watched "Great Outdoors" for the 1st time since... 1989? today.

Some of you love it, and more power to you...

...but that was an awful movie. Not a laugh to be found!

I felt bad for Candy and Aykroyd! :help:

Uncle Buck is my favorite Candy film, but Planes, Trains & Automobiles is really good as well. The "You wanna hurt me?" scene is the latter is so good. Many comedic actors could never pull off a dramatic, emotional moment that well.

His drum work with the Queen Haters was quite underrated, I think
