Just occurred to me this thread subject matter will probably appeal to the over 50‘s on this forum.

"The Far Country" with James Stewart and Walter Brennan on GritTV. Thinking of getting the Blu-ray. Convinced it's one of the best westerns to come out of the '50's.

I'm just under 50, but this thread'll appeal to me. I think Westerns are great.

Most recently "The Hateful Eight". Usually the old Eastwood are my most heavily rotated DVDs though.

49 years and a half, so edging closer to 50 every day.

And there was no need to convert me, I grew up on Westerns. I still remember when I was dating an ex-GF. We had her sister over here, and the sister was looking thru my DVD collection and spouted out "There's certainly a lot of Westerns". And that was 13 years ago or so. So, this thread would have been for me when I was in my 30s too. :)

Yeah I’m the same with ole Clint.

Hateful Eight ? Very violent, but great script. Classy soundtrack.

Speaking of very violent. The Wild Bunch is another old favorite.

Definitely- I think I have all of Eastwood's Westerns (as well as a lot of his other films), quite a few John Wayne Westerns too. Plus other Westerns, though they may not all date back to the 50s/60s. I think the newest on might be the remake of "True Grit".

Plus I have the entire series of "Gunsmoke", 6 of the 8 seasons of "Rawhide", starting on collecting "Bonanza", and need a couple seasons of "Have Gun, Will travel" to complete my series of that one.

It's no Blazing Saddles, but it does have some very funny bits.

I watched the ending of Rocky Mountain (1950) last night. The movie is a little Lost-Causey but I dig the ending.
