ahh that Blody William Campbell...didn't have enough to replace him once he was dead...he also went home and stole all his clothes. ¡¡¡( the size fit him well..by the way )...
Excellent thread idea! I’ve dug back a little into the Anthology book but some of the photos of this era are so small as to be indistinct in many cases. I’m working my way through the closing chapters of Lewisohn’s All These Years: Tune In audiobook at the moment, so all of the photos described in the book are readily recognisable and immediate. Are there any photos of Neil or Brian from this era? And keep the photos coming; this is all absolute gold
No way in hell Pete is better looking than any of the other 4 guys really! Specially the Stu fellah! My opinion any way! But I love how Paul remembered the "Mean, Moody And Magnificent", so cool!
Well those are the 50's-60's of the glamour years. Its not like today that you gotta have a Chinese tattooed in your "bee-heind" to be looking cool....
Well John, Paul and George didn't have tattoos anywhere(that I know of...) and plenty of people find them to be better looking than Pete(both in the old days and as fans who are looking back at them now).

Well, Paul and George are 2 years apart. And the difference between 14 and 16 can be quite staggering in boys.
The day that John Lennon met Paul McCartney for the first time: A hot Saturday in Woolton, July 6, 1957: John Lennon, 16, runs his Quarry Men through a set at St. Peter’s church fete, singing Elvis, Gene and Lonnie. When he steps down from the stage, his great pal Ivan Vaughan introduces him to Paul McCartney, 15. From left to right: Eric Griffiths, Colin Hanton, Rod Davis, John Lennon, Pete Shotton, Len Garry.
They only had an 8 month difference (June 1942 to Feb 1943)! Paul always makes it sound like he's *so* much older than George, but he's not. George said he was a late bloomer when it came to growing up. So when you combine that with the fact that he was quieter than John and Paul, you can see why his age became such a thing.
Stu looks like the frontman of an ‘80s indie band here. Come to think of it, that’s true of many of his photos.
