Paul, always putting his finger in musical and female pies. Bet he was a real blowhard to have as a band colleague, just so wickedly talented no one could afford to get rid of him.
Yes, at first glance it resembles Paul in shades or perhaps going for the Buddy Holly look - possibly he’s on a bicycle too. But although there’s a more than decent resemblance I’m not sure it’s him. Maybe McCartney looked a bit younger at that time than the person in the picture. I wonder if anyone’s ever asked Mike McCartney about it - I bet he’d know!
John never wore glasses in public back then and I'll bet Paul didn't either, to purty to wear glasses.
Ok thanks, found it now, Stuart's draft letter of 27th March 1960 where he starts to write 'Quarry Men' and changes it to 'Beatals". Further reading has made me realise how brief a period that they were ever called The Silver Beatles or any variation of, Silver Beatles just came from a suggestion by Brian Cassar at the Larry Parnes audtion on 10th May that stuck in Allan William's mind for the duration of a few bookings. The autograph sets I posted show that the group still called themselves 'Beatles' or 'Beatals'
