Oh, I see... in his spare [covid] time, Paul has recorded a song-for-song cover of Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever album...
Paul told GQ a couple months ago that during quarantine he finished recording some songs he had been wanting to finish for a while...This was not in relation to It's a Wonderful Life. Paul was just talking about solo songs of his that he has recently completed. So whatever his plans are, he's on the record saying he has some stuff that's DONE that very well could be released. My guess is a new single or small EP (3-4 songs) sometime this fall/winter. Perhaps it includes a surprising collaboration. Maybe it's a couple older songs he finally finished like he said + one new song written during Covid...
Hell hath no excitement like me in the build-up to a McCartney album! Just ask my wife for Driving Rain onwards, or my son for Memory Almost Full onwards. (And based on the exclamation points and smileys via text, it looks like he's as excited as I am now!)
Oh! Oh! He's just finished polishing up a bunch of Linda's old demos for release as "Wide Prairie 2"!!
A true McCartney III would be great, low-fi and solo, recorded at home during lockdown... It is 2020 after all, an anniversary year for McCartney and McCartney II....
We aren't doing riddles this time? Let me try instead: Number 9, number 9, number 9 (weeks from there). Did I do this right?
I believe the CDC and/or the WHO (not the band) would give McCartney good grades for social distancing on this project.
HAHA, well that's certainly cool. Actually I think The Who know a little about recording from a distance, too
I got it! Given all the clues...Paul will release the first album ever recorded on the moon! (And release on my birthday to boot!)
I got it! Paul has remade "Magic in the Moonlight"! He's the lead and Lady Gaga plays the Emma Stone role.
He's alone and the year ends in zero... how could this have turned out to be anything but McCartney III?
Exciting news! Hope it's true and nothing slows it down! That would be a nice way to end such a crap year
This all sounds very exciting. If it IS a new album, I wonder if all the songs were written pre-pandemic. I could see Paul writing a new song about his separation from Nancy during the beginning of lockdown.
