Sir Jinks, Per chance - one of us guesses correctly on the content or date of release or other pertinent facts of the new release - will you acknowledge that?
McCartney, like Sinatra does a full album of Moon Songs. Unlike Frank, his songs are all original, written by Macca. They are performed only by Paul on an acoustic guitar.
I would crown you if I could your majesty. In all seriousness, thank you for this news which leaves us excited and with great anticipation regardless of when it is comes. It is important to have positive things to look forward especially when you are in a strict COVID-19 lockdown as we are in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This news along with the Get Back book, POB book, JL Gimme Some Truth and possible ATMP box helps a great deal.
My company has operations in AUS and I’m frequently on teleconferences with a couple folks in Melbourne so I feel a connection! Good luck with the lockdown! My boss is an Aussie, too! He came over right when things got crazy (March) and likes to confuse/entertain us with Aussie slang.
McCartney, and McCartney II were studio explorations of the tools available at those times. I warmly welcome McCartney III - but I dread the comments here which will endlessly lament that he used this or that modern tool. I hope that we can celebrate McCartney III for what it will be, which I hope is not a sonic copycat of I or II.
Egypt Station was announced on 18th June (naturally) for its 7th September release. That's (I'm doing this in my head at 2am, forgive any mistakes) roughly 81 days. If we were to stick to the same timetable (or a similar one) for McCartney III, could we see an announcement for this thing by the end of this month?
I'm pretty interested in a McCartney album that's polar opposite of Egypt Station. I think a solo, more stripped down "home" recorded (ie Paul's pro studio at his house) could be great. What kind of Paul album do you want?
