If Paul had Logic Pro instead of Studer back in 1970, guess what would be his no.1 choice... :)

Wow! How could I have missed that?
    Thank you.
    It looks promising.
And it seems we'll be getting new albums by Weller, Macca, Springsteen and Costello - all of these in the very dreadful 2020.
Sounds like a healing gift to me.

  7. Even though he got help from Youth I’ll always cinder that Electric Arguments really should have been called McCartney III.

    Why not "Liverpool Sound Collage"?
Sure, it's got other people on it...BUT,
it DID come out in 2000!

  9. Well it’s not exactly a full album. More of a mash up made by SFA

Could have been a Kisses project too with the Emerick recordings.

Twenty tracks is an awful lot of material to abandon.

It was likely to be some kind of covers project that he just wasn't happy with.

Obviously just guessing of course. Yet another tantalizing piece of information about unreleased Paul material.

This is definitely a nice surprise, if true. I enjoy both “McCartney” approaches (homespun acoustic vs experimental electronic) so I’m curious to see what approach he takes here.

Too bad McCartney II didn't get released as a 2 LP.
Maybe we'd be getting McCartney III as a 3 LP set. One can only dream.
I'm good with whatever he chooses to do. Experimental, electronic, acoustic, etc.
Just give me lots of Macca please!

If December 11 is the day as I think I seen posted here, that's only a couple weeks after RSD BF, a perfect opportunity for a 45!

With his break from touring this year, maybe his voice sounds a bit younger anyway. :D

I wouldn’t count on that. I really don’t care anymore how his voice sounds, I’m just happy he’s still around and making music.

Same here. Young voice, old voice is irrelevant to me. What really sets him apart from his peers is his creative spirit. That was true in 1969 and true today.

Of the two McCartney albums, I've always loved 1, and liked 2.
The Mc2 Archive gave me a greater appreciation for Mc2.
Personally, I'd like Mc3 be more conventional with traditional rock instruments.
BUT, I love when Paul goes crazy in the studio and takes things down weird corridors.
So, I long ago learned to not anticipate what McCartney should or should not do next. And that attitude has helped steer me through the many left turns he has taken with his music.
It's paid off for me, as some of the material I didn't like at first, has really grown on me, once the expectation thing was gone.
I really hope these rumors are true. They sound like they are.
Thanks @mrjinks for bringing us this far...

McCartney III being half made up of songs with traditional acoustic and "rock" instruments, and the other half being weird experimental tangents and instrumentals with electronic elements would be the perfect balance for me. A blend of the approaches found on I and II is what III should be, IMHO. Give me 6 traditional Paul ditties and ballads and 6 weird freakouts. I'm here for it all :)

If he’s going to be experimental, perhaps this is a clue as to what the album may sound like? Written and featuring Paul McCartney from 2017.
