Who knows, I haven't watched the extra tracks as I don't own "The Later Years" box but maybe they felt the movie worked better as a whole without them. A movie and a live album are 2 quite different things.
I find it frankly amazing that after the deluge of complaints that the only way to get the Blu-ray of the new edit of DSoT was to buy the very expensive "The Later Years" box, there are now complaints that it IS being made available separately. Jesus f****** Christ it's difficult to please music fans!
If you are here merely to make a mockery of this box set I suggest you find yourself another thread, my friend. Thanks.
I'm all-in on this. I saw that tour twice, and it was glorious. The bed exploded about 20 feet from where I was sitting at the beginning of the first show. Musically I think it's better than Pulse and Gilmour's solo in "On the Turning Away" is transcendent.
ha, I went to 7 shows on this tour !* ..... three on the Fall '87 leg (L.A. night 4, Seattle, Vancouver BC) and four on the Spring '88 leg (L.A., Sacramento and both Oaklands) ..... I didn't buy the Later Years box so I am very tempted by this. * then somehow I missed the Division Bell tour.
Since the Later Years box set is out I didn't expect they gonna release this as a standalone, to be honest. Anyway, I might take a look at the CD/Blu-ray version then. Possibly something I can afford than the earlier released box. The picture(s) used here look great but the typeface makes the whole artwork a bit cheap, IMO.
I was a bit too unspecific: the track list on the PF page made me believe that the bonus track that were part of the main movie which wasn't the case in the box. Now it seems like they're added as bonus tracks. The only difference seems to be that they're on the same disc this time.
The PF Store listing has the tracks in sequence. I read this to be 16 original songs from the video plus the 5 bonuses: Tracklist Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-5) (Live, remix 2019) 12.02 Signs Of Life (Live, remix 2019) 3.24 Learning To Fly (Live, remix 2019) 5.20 Yet Another Movie (Live, remix 2019) 6.16 Round And Around (Live, remix 2019) 0.35 A New Machine Part 1 (Live, remix 2019) 1.35 Terminal Frost (Live, remix 2019) 6.17 A New Machine Part 2 (Live, remix 2019) 0.32 Sorrow (Live, remix 2019) 10.33 The Dogs Of War (Live, remix 2019) 7.58 On The Turning Away (Live, remix 2019) 9.04 One Of These Days (Live, remix 2019) 6.28 Time (Live, remix 2019) 5.19 On The Run (Live, remix 2019) 2.47 The Great Gig In The Sky (Live, remix 2019) 4.51 Wish You Were Here (Live, remix 2019) 4.38 Us And Them (Live, remix 2019) 7.34 Money (Live, remix 2019) 8.18 Comfortably Numb (Live, remix 2019) 9.54 One Slip(Live, remix 2019) 6.08 Run Like Hell (Live, remix 2019) 8.05
Is the deluxe 2cd and blu ray ? Is this only on PF website ? Bull moose has vinyl, 2cd and stand alone blu ray and dvd only ...
No there is a deluxe box-set option that includes 2cd/Blu-ray/DVD and a 40-page booklet and it's available everywhere. The cheapest seems to be Amazon France, at least for people situated in Europe. Since this was just announced today it could probably take a few days before every store has postings for all versions.
On the Cds it lacks "welcome to the machine", compare with the LY? Is that right? Oh my, oh my. That is enough to make me doubt. Never was a big fan of DSoT but when I heard it complete on TLY I was surrended to it, it was not anymore an "amputaded" show but a real fulfilling experience. But I dont think I want it without WttM.
Well, how would you feel if you have sold a kidney to buy The Later Years... Gilmour & Mason, laughing all the way to the bank.
I sincerely hope no one bought the big box-set unless they had money to burn. I settled for the audio-only iTunes download, which was very reasonably priced, and with the coming blu-ray/CD mini box I feel I've been treated very well by G&M
That doesn't seem unreasonable to me (unlike The Later Years box). I don't actually have this album so I have pre-ordered.
