I did a search and didn't see anything yet on the forum. Just saw the trailer for this yesterday, and it looks sensational. Classic Ryan Reynolds...think Deadpool without the costume. Opens in July. Here's the trailer....(watch full screen)
Ryan Reynolds needs to be careful that "Classic Ryan Reynolds" doesn't come to bite him on the ass. Is it sustainable?
Agreed. At some point, it becomes a one-trick pony situation. And the guy can act so he should try to get other types of projects before he's pigeonholed.
This looks like the sort of thing that he does get the giant payday that allows him to do the tiny art films. That said, I am so there on the opening night.
apart from the nonsense negativity I am looking forward to this...as I am a Reynolds fan...a positive fan...can there ever not be a negative...EVER?
Well, I see that "Free Guy" isn't coming out until December, probably due to the virus. And it seems it's going to be on Netflix....
...watching this at home is the best for us... maybe it will get a theatrical run as well...then we will both be happy. ; ) but for now I'm happy it's on "TV"...
Doctor Fauci was interviewed on The Daily Show last week and he was okay with seeing movies in the theater, with appropriate distancing. We just saw two films today, one with one additional couple and one entirely alone in the theater.
"Probably" due to the virus??? And where are you getting this "seems it's going to be on Netflix" stuff? The movie remains on the schedule for theaters in December. I just looked and found zero evidence that they'd decided to move it to Netflix. Will it come out in theaters 2 months from now? Will it instead go to NF? Dunno, but your statement that claims it's already been moved to NF is incorrect...
The AMC theater we went to yesterday still has a large poster for it, and is still playing the trailer.
As linked above, they just put out a new trailer that was comedically evasive about release date. But they didn't say "coming to Netflix"! No idea why @sixtiesstereo made that claim!
This was from back in July. Things may be changing. Have to wait and see. Free Guy: Theatre Release Or Netflix Release? - TheNationRoar But, it WAS a valid claim to make....
So you posted a July article in October to claim now that it's going to Netflix? An article of questionable origin and informational value from a no-name site and a writer whose grasp of English is tenuous, to say the least? Some dude on the Internet wrote a barely comprehensible opinion piece 3 months ago and you claim it's valid. Even though the studio just put out a new trailer that refers to the release date.
Listen, some people don't want more of the things they like. They want just a little bit and then they want to be tired of it and toss it aside. For some reason...
I'm not clear what you're saying, but Netflix is a better option. I know of no one who goes to the theater during the pandemic. If you want to see this in December (in the theater) when it comes out, go for it. But now that the Regal chain has shut down, I don't even know where this will be opening (in theaters) in December. I'll pay to watch it on Netflix (or Amazon Prime) on my 65" home theater in December rather than run the risk of going to the theater....
