10 Tracks looks a bit short for a double. Do they do long workouts when playing live?

I only have "A Deeper Understanding", but it's one of my top ten for the last decade. I keep meaning to look further at their back catalogue, but other stuff distracts me.

It's presented as a double 12", so i assume the records would be cut at 45rpm. If so it would be hard to fit more than 10 songs into the wax.

Just saw them live once, the set was an hour long or so, but it was during a festival where sets are usually shorter than "regular" gigs

Read this on the page you linked:

So generally going to be long songs then. I think I'm in for this (on CD), it will at least give me an overview of the band.

It's also available on "opaque gold" vinyl:
    Live Drugs Exclusive 2LP

"Thinking of a Place" is an eleven minute track and possibly longer if they extended it out at all. So that will probably take up most of side B. When I saw them live a few years ago, "Under the Pressure" lasted for over 10 minutes so add some stage banter and crowd noise in between songs, there won't be a problem filling out four sides.

Exciting news. Love the band, all their albums but never attended their live show so this will give me an idea how they stretch out some of their songs. In for the CD.

No tracks from Slave Ambient? Hmm. Seven tracks were singles. It's more or less a live greatest hits album. Still, I'll buy it.

Yes it's the name of Granduciel's own label and i agree on the name being quite cheeky

With that name i expect th vinyl pressing to be at least flawless :p

I'm definitely in on this! Their live presentations are stunning compared to the studio versions in terms of energy. Check out some live clips on youtube.

It may be tongue and cheek considering his first few albums were considered low-fi affairs.

It really is great album isn't it? Lost in the Dream is excellent too and you should definitely check that out. I haven't gone back any further myself but have heard good things.

I can't put my finger on it, other than maybe I haven't given it a real chance, but to my ears, they seem to be a different sounding band from Lost in the Dream on. Sort of like they went in a bit of a new direction on that album, and they perfected it on A Deeper Understanding. I have listened to their older stuff, and it just doesn't click for me like their last two albums. But I'm also the guy that doesn't care for Gish or Louder Than Love that much compared to those bands' later work, so maybe I'm just a chach. :)

    I'm in!

Tracks 1, 8 and 10 are my favourites from Lost In A Dream, and track 5 is my favourite from A Deeper Understanding.

Really hope it's a nice mix and mastering though, cos you definitely can't say that about A Deeper Understanding.

For me Deeper Understanding was a huge disappointment and still is. As I've said before, I wish Adam would put out the album with all tracks live in the same order as the studio set.

Release day is tomorrow. Amazon.ca lists this as `not available', whatever that means.

I was hoping they'd have it for preorder weeks ago, but it's always been listed as not available.
