Pick your 5 favourite Schwarzenegger starring movies..I excluded the Terminator movies and a couple of early ones like Hercules...

Maybe the only one voting for The Last Action Hero, but it deserves a lot more love than it gets.

 

Total Recall is miles above all these, though I gave The Running Man a vote too for camp value.

Commando - classic Arnold action flick with one liners. I can watch it again and again.
Predator - Well made film and Arnold made it better. They can cast Harrison Ford and it’ll still be good.
Total Recall - Classic pulp. Great one liners. Get deez peeple sum eeer. See you at the party Victor...! Wow
Kindergarten Cop - Every action star can’t resist making a movie with kids including Jackie Chan, Vin Diesel but they all suck but not Kindergarten Cop. Memorable scenes abound.
True Lies - better than a lot of Bond films and doesn’t take itself seriously. The few hours wiz by.

I think the list is filled with different film names of the same basic acting...and this is why we love Arnie.
So what is left to help choose?...How about movie quotes we all know from Da Greaat Aarhnode.

"Gedtudahchoppah" translated into English as "Get to the Chopper." From Predator of course.
"It's not a tumah." "It's not a tumah...at all." From Kindergarten Cop.

And finally, True Lies, but this is mostly because of Jamie Lee Curtis...I'd drop the cassette tape player too.

When I think of Arnold movies I automatically see the first Terminator, the first Predator, the Conan movies, The Expendables, and Running Man/Total Recall.
I have seen all the others but they don't quite cement Arnold like the movies I mentioned.

I love the first one. I've probably seen it ten times. It's so cheesy, but it's great all the same. I thought the second one was pretty wretched though.

 

I love Arnold so much. He's in about half of my favorite movies, many of which are listed above.

I think Total Recall is his peak non-Terminator role; it's actually a pretty interesting and rounded performance.

Obviously Predator is great too, although I think that one would have worked with just about any '80s action hero.

The first Conan is a way more interesting movie than most people give it credit for, and a lot of its success sits on Arnold's shoulders. No-one else could have sold the role, as the remake shows. The second one, of course, is an embarrassing disaster.

Running Man is a favorite from my childhood -- it's kind of like a Roger Corman version of the Paul Verhoeven sci-fi satires. Very similar in tone to the original Death Race, another favorite of mine.

I wasn't sure which to pick as #5, so I went with True Lies for its crisp James Cameron direction.
