There are really cheap ones for like $329...I'd be scared of those.

I'll add that I feel woefully inadequate as I look at other setups in this thread, but I'm only two months into the world of vinyl records after building up an impressive CD collection over the past three and a half decades.
My Audio Technica LP60X and my Klipsch R-41M speakers were the gateway to listen to random records that I have acquired over the years for decorative/collector purposes.
The Audio Technica LP60X will be upgraded in the not-too-distant future with a better turntable, although it generally works quite well.

The Klipsch powered speakers are going to stay for a long long while, hopefully, although I plan to add a subwoofer at some point. In my 1,600 square foot townhouse, I play music at a modest volume, but a subwoofer would help me have the utmost fullness of sound.

There is nothing inadequate about sitting down with your favourite records and getting lost for a few hours. It's about the music, the gear is simply a tool. To me it doesn't matter if you've spent $500 or $500k, it's what transports you that matters.

Hey man as long as your enjoying your system and the music ain't no such thing as woefully inadequate. Enjoy what you have and the music and just hopefully enjoy it more as you upgrade. And enjoy both the music and the journey!

We don't care at all about the cost of your system. We like to see well integrated systems in a clean, comfortable setting that invites a listener to relax and enjoy the music.

We look forward to your next posts that welcome us to enjoy your journey. All of us are on a journey!

My tubes just don't glow like that. My power tubes are different but I also have Radiotechnique 12au7's and they don't seem to glow like that but half of them are covered by the top plate of my amp.

    Anyway, really cool picture!

Thanks! That's a long exposure, they don't look like that in normal light...

Hope I don't bore everyone with to many photos but we're doing a tub to shower conversion in the bathroom adjacent to our den which is my listening room and the project has reduced our room from this...

    ...to this.

The project started last Wednesday and was halted due to shower drain being improperly joined to a line that leads out of the building. It was suggested that we could bore through the 13" concrete floor to the space above the unit below to gain access to the joint which totally freaked me out so I got building management involved and we went through the downstairs neighbors bathroom ceiling. Though this was completed the next day it threw the contractor off schedule and halted progress until (fingers crossed) they resume tomorrow.

Needless to say I've been longing to spin some records especially the two John Coltrane records from Acoustic sounds that were delivered late last week. All I've really only been able to do is think about what I could possibly do differently with the den as we put it back together hopefully next Tuesday.

Don't you find this to be too low to the floor? Putting you below the speaker ( particularly the tweeter) height?

My ears are at 36" from ground and center of tweeters are at 32.5"
