A lot of older members here grew up watching tv westerns in the 1950s/60s I’d imagine.

    Blueberry ( Renegade) 2004

Set in 1870. I would describe it as a psychedelic western, altered states ..indeed.
Cast includes Vincent Cassell, Michael Madsen.

Yeah, I have his other efforts, Brawl in cell block, and Dragged across Concrete and both are well worth watching.

Really enjoyed it overall. There were a couple times throughout the film where I felt like Kurt was made for this role. Last part takes a hard right turn though, so be warned.

I happened to watch this one on Saturday night on Netflix. I was prompted by recently obtaining the soundtrack vinyl as I'll pick up just about anything by Max Richter.

Very good movie. I don't watch a lot of movies but I'm glad I took the time for this one. It is also decently fresh on Rotten Tomatoes so watch with confidence!

I have that one on bluray and watched it the other night. It had been about a year since I watched it last. I really like this movie. Historically accurate sets, props, and costumes. Most of it filmed in my home state of NM so there's a lot of beautiful scenery. Also southern Colorado. Great cast too.

I've got this on Blu Ray as well. Very good film although very harrowing at times... and thinking about it this is the last Western I've watched too even though it was quite some time ago. Need to start watching some of the old classics again!!

I just saw The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance for the first time. I’m not normally a huge fan of John Wayne or “golden age” Hollywood westerns in general, but I thought this one was very good. John Ford is a great filmmaker and anything is better with Jimmy Stewart in it. I thought it had a really nicely-developed plot with well-written characters and a surprising amount of thematic depth.

  25. We’ve been breaking in our new Sony 8k LED Android 85”, Denon 8k receiver and Panasonic UB9000 this week before calibration in two weeks. Played two 4k westerns, Unforgiven and the Quick and the Dead. Both looked and sounded fantastic!
