Yellowstone is the closest thing to a soap opera that's doing well

I would consider that to be a modern Western ensemble drama, not a soap opera by any means.

It is a bit soap opera-y though, compared to other dramas I've seen in recent times

Try A Million Little Things; the characters are written well, but the plotlines and pacing are downright Palmolive-worthy.

I’m so happy there’ll be 5th season. One of the best current series and the best series with the word Queen in the title and a sexy female protagonist.

I'm not sure Queen Of The South has made it to the UK. I love Arturo Perez Reverte's source novel though.

I don't know about that... It seems like "Family Guy" was cancelled twice by Fox before being brought back, and that preceded "One Day at a Time's" cancellations. But, in the case of "ODAAT", it isn't on the same network each time, so yeah, there is some difference.

Interesting... I didn't know about the first cancellation which kind of wasn't one..
"Fox announced that the show had been canceled in May 2000, at the end of the second season. However, following a last-minute reprieve, on July 24, 2000, Fox ordered 13 additional episodes of Family Guy to form a third season."

But yes this situation is a bit different as ODAAT is completely canceled by the network with it no chance of coming back a third time there.

That's another show that needs to be cancelled.

I “discovered” Superstore after the third season. I absolutely love it, it’s just such a fun show. Hopefully they will get a good send off.

it was a whole lot better last year, a whole lot better.

it has become a show of individual conflicts that have become quite redundant after only 2 episodes.

both 'big sky' and 'next' are just terrible, both new, and both should not be renewed, but with TV you never know. i am still perplexed that 'stumptown' was cancelled and terribly written and acted shows like '911' (both of them) stay on the air.

Articles are saying The Expanse will be cancelled at the end of the 6th Season. Having never read the books myself, I do understand there's a 30 year time gap between Babylon's Ashes and Persepolis Rising but I wouldn't consider this a cancellation.

And with the drama surrounding Cas Anvar, who will not be appearing in the final season (that's another story)...

Overly-attached fans are doing that a lot these days: a network renews a show for one season, the fan hoardes call that "canceled".

Wasn't canceled, poindexters...it was renewed...just not for as long as you want.

Why...it's almost as if it has become...a... soap opera...!

Fortunately for me, the primary reason for watching remains: Stephanie Szostak still has the cutest nose on network tv.

It’s on Netflix in Canada. Maybe you can use a VPN to see it.

One of my top all time series was Graceland, also on the USA Network. It only made 3 seasons before getting cancelled.
