I finally watched Fitzcarraldo last month and liked it a lot. Other than that one, I’ve only seen Grizzly Man.

If you like Fitcarraldo you'll surely like Aguirre, Wrath of God as well. Kinski was a complete loon but Herzog got some incredible performances out of him.

Herzog subtly invokes Kinski in Grizzly Man in a scene where Treadwell is ranting and raving. VO: "I have seen this kind of thing before..."

I see that it’s available to watch on Prime. Will definitely check it out.

I loved Kinski in Fitzcarraldo. It was the first movie I’ve seen him in but he has a face that is so interesting and his acting was very charismatic to me. I’m really glad I finally watched it. It was one of those films I always heard about but never knew anyone who had seen it.
One bright side of being at home so much now, I’m watching films I normally would ever get around to trying out.

many of his recent documentaries are extremely enjoyable films. Encounters at the End Of The World especially.

I thought his remake of Nosferatu was fantastic.

It's risky to remake an iconic film and rarely successful but he (and Klaus) pulled it off.

I haven't seen any real mention of his appearance in "Jack Reacher" (2012) as the Zec, but the combination
of his voice and his face made a remarkable villain. He's only in 5 or 6 scenes, but is terrific in them...

Cave of Forgotten Dreams was stunning. It’s the only film I’ve made a point to see in 3D.

His turn in the Mandalorian made the show for me. “we will all be quiet!”

I watched it and it is- it makes a good pairing with Oliver Stone's " the Putin Interviews " funnily enough.

Aguirre, Wrath of God - I loved this. I would imagine it was something of an influence on Apocalypse Now

Yes! Great point- not many people see the connection ( probably because they haven't seen " Aguirre " ), yet it's obvious how much Herzog's film influenced Coppola.

i HAVE to mention one of my favourite documentaries by herzog ....

LITTLE DIETER NEEDS TO FLY - trailer

it is frankly one of the most incredible stories i have EVER heard. almost unbelievable. i was forever changed. i watch this every once in a while, when life seems to get to me. what a life.

herzog later went on to make a dramatic feature based on his story, starring christian bale.

it makes you REALLY wonder .... about LIFE .... about one's own personal journey ... thru that life .... puts forth the idea .... that nothing will be wasted .... that even the pain (whether physical or psychological) that one has suffered ......might be very meaningful, in the end. i found it a personal story, with much larger ramifications.

    that is MY trailer. lol

i think its on youtbe and prime as well
