Might be the last larger multi-disc Copyright set until 2024....when 1974 is covered. I’d imagine the 1971-1973 sets might be smaller.
I missed out...despite hovering with a basket already filled with another item so card loaded..but it didn’t come onto my screen until 15:03 when wham..GONE. I don’t know why I keep playing the record companies games. Just release it and sell it like everything else. (yes..it is sour grapes!)
Krogsgaard’s listings are completely different for 3rd March 1970 than what’s on this disc. In fact, it’s generally all over the place for the early sessions. Some stuff here not previously listed as well. Three options: Krogsgaard is wrong; the set is curated and there’s stuff they didn’t think was worth copyrighting, or some tapes have been lost or deteriorated beyond use. Don’t Sony realise how many people would be doing a “you could get me this for Christmas love” if this was generally released. Especially among most of us of a certain age who struggle to answer the “what do you want for Christmas?” Question after 40 years of marriage
I'm counting on that, as well as plenty of others -- which obviously proves that they are certainly leaving some money on the table. So we'll see how quickly after the Dec. 4 release date that we track down free copies.
I actually ended up getting mine from a bookstore in Germany last year, the week before Christmas, from a private tip-off from a friend after the U.K. allocation via Badlands was snapped up by buyers in Alabama and New Mexico who’d sat up on the internet all night after the link and pre-order information was leaked beforehand. I know some have missed out and will unfortunately not get their hands on this, but hopefully if there are regional allocations throughout Europe, without links and information being leaked globally, people will have a chance of picking it up more locally this time.
The good thing about this record company crap and record company marketing too is I care a little less each time. So much of the fun in buying music and indeed ,when we had them , concert tickets has been replaced with stress. peace and love✌Dave
Wow! I guess owing to the holidays I was checked out enough that I wasn't even aware this was in the offing! Oh well. I was able to get a copy last year but won't even have the chance to this year. Can't have everything! Can't wait to hear this material, though.
That is what is so ridiculous about only printing a few hundred copies -- it forces a number of Bob Dylan fans to seek out the recordings from alternate sources when they would have gladly paid for an official copy. Why not at least offer these copyright collections as official downloads from bobdylan.com or a Sony sanctioned website?
Hopefully Bob doing “Jamaica Farewell” will be a highlight... Apparently, guitarist Ron Cornelius thought it was great and had an acetate made of it. I asked him about it a few years ago, and unfortunately it had been lost or misplaced in a house move some years before.
