No Dave Grohl? I mean, the guy will show up for your kid's birthday party if you ask nicely. But he's not showing up for this?

It feels truly special to receive the Museum of Pop Culture Founders Award in our home town of Seattle. It’s also humbling to be joined by so many of our friends, peers, and heroes to rock some AIC tunes. I hope you enjoy the show as much as we did putting it together.

Wow blown away by all the performances but Dallas Green blew my hair back! Never heard of him before going to have to check him out.

You must be a hoot at parties....

  11. By the way, I agree that his performance was fantastic. Essentially - will be the new "go to" Dallas Green rather than the memory of the baseball manager (who was quite a character, as I would assume any Montreal person of a certain age might know). This other "Dallas Green" is quite a find.

LOL :hide: I’m not into sports at all so even as a Montrealer that reference flew over my head.

They should definitely put the audio out—some great performances. Just about everybody sounded great. Got chills during Lanegan’s performances, and during several others.

Just watched what I thought was the whole thing tonight—but for some reason it started in the middle of Korn’s segment, so I just watched from there. I now see from the list that was posted that I missed the whole damn beginning somehow on YouTube!

Well done all around. Some of the performances were a little...off...I mean come on Metallica. Some were extraordinary, check Fishbone's version of 'Them Bones' for example. They also recorded a version of 'Dam That River' that I hope to see someday. For those wondering about the connection, Angelo and Norwood played on Boggy Depot and Chris Dowd played keys on the subsequent tour.

It could've been a Layne fest, but they did a really good job paying respect to him while spending equal time on the rest of the band. Particularly touching was Will's story about hearing Hendrix and then seeing him for the first time with his cousin and seeing that, 'he looked like us!'

As someone who finds Metallica generally unbearable anymore the last two decades, their stripped-down version of “Would?” actually surprised me. I thought Hetfield’s vocal on it was pretty strong. They should have done the whole thing instead of stopping 2/3 of the way through, though.

Really hope AiC and the museum release the audio of this whole thing, it all sounded great for the most part.

Awards shows usually suck but this one doesn't.
The list of names was a little interesting, but the end result to me somehow exceeds the some of parts.
Great performances almost every time. Great great award show..Oddly never been in the museum, and used to drive by it all the time.

I found “Rooster” extremely duLL. Definitely not uplifting; that's for sure.
