A decent record. It's a bit too poppy and produced for my tastes.

I get you love it but, where's 1/5 and 2/5?

    I think it's 'ab-so-lute' :):p

    Groucho Marx into Queen? Wow!

The album (and the follow-up) is named after a Marx Bros movie ;)

It's my favorite Queen album that's not a comp.

Just a 4 on account of being uneven. It does have very high moments though and most cuts are strong.

    The unheralded gem is 39.

    Spot on!

Loads of people criticise Queen, but who else could have done this?

Full of crap they are! :)

interesting how Night at the Opera has a light coloured cover art, and Day at the Races a dark coloured cover

Yes!,a very good piece of music.i like all Queen albums, but not one single record it's THE masterpiece;it's the whole body of work, the progression,...the ideas...
From Great King Rat to Innuendo so many good songs.

My dad's favourite. He introduced it to me. Showed me the LP when we went through his record collection, too. Cool stuff!

Parts of A Night At The Opera are magnificent. Truly mind bogglingly good. But there are, to my unpredictable :)D) ears, five complete clunkers which stop it from being a masterpiece so I tend to regard the good tracks as forming side one of my personal Queen Marx Brothers album, with the quality stuff on A Day At The Races which I find equally lop-sided, making up side two. :)

Well.... "Queen II" had the white/ black theme on one album.
