Don't know why, but for Keith Richard's Take It So Hard song, bassist Charley Drayton took over the drum seat from Steve Jordan, who played bass. Don't know if he was an official "non-drummer".
Tailgunner. An Oasis side project with Mark Coyle and Paul Stacey, featuring Noel Gallagher on drums.
Thanks for reminding me - this was one of the examples I was going to add... I saw video about 20 years ago on my VHS tape of Plant playing drums (pretty good I thought back then anyway) while introducing him, or maybe Keith Moon. I'll try to look for it.
Somehow I knew Gilbert was gonna be a more than competent drummer....Most actual drummers aren't this good
This is an example of a "getting through a song"...A snare should never be tuned that way, if you can't hit it like a steam hammer IMO. He'd of gotten by more unscathed had he played a piccolo with the heads cranked.. Love Woody as a musician but drums are the weakest link here by a mile.
I recall he does, there's a clip on YouTube of him doing it. Hitting around the edges and centre of each tom and the snare.
Jeff Lynne plays drums (and just about everything else) on the two "Jeff Lynne's ELO" albums "Alone In The Universe" and "From Out Of Nowhere". He really should get a real drummer in!
