Find that interview, because the 1998s were not reMIXED but reMASTERED.

    And they sound like ****.

Nah, the first 2 are best and downhill from there.

Everybody's tastes are different, but to me you are really missing out because the next three albums are one of the best three album runs that any band has ever had.

To me, their awesome three albums run begins with Shake and ends with Amorica. Three Snakes marks the (if slight) beginning of their downhill period. But we all have different tastes don't we?;)

I can't find it online. He said he boosted the bass and you can tell.

  9. Bass can be boosted via mastering.

I just listened to "Charming Mess" again and the mix is just not very good.

I love Steve, but his snare is digging a hole through my head.

It is there that you realize that Steve was still learning to drum in 1989.

yeah.. but it's not his job to lower the mix !!

In a shocking revelation, Rich is relatively low in the mix. haha

If Rich catches that soon enough, he'll delay the release to remix it.

Would have been cool if this was a 3CD deluxe version with some live stuff.... cuz they were an astonishingly good band back in the early 1990s (from audio i have heard and eye-witness accounts!)

The following 2, anyway. I don't know how you can argue the almost rocker-free Three Snakes is a better album, even if the band itself was perhaps a stronger unit in 1996.

perhaps the original poster should talk to a staff member and have the title changed so it's correct now...

A cutdown 3CD edition without the deluxe packaging will be available at Target and Rough Trade retailers in the U.S. and the U.K., respectively.)

Amazon Canada has the 2 cd set for $19.89 and the 3 cd set for $65.24. That's quite a price jump.

I'll keep an eye on it but with that I'll pre-order neither. Well played Amazon.

Rough Trade for me, even though they are overpriced as heck, it comes in a little mini book thing like the Keith Richards "Talk Is Cheap" remaster, which is a nice touch.

The price jump between the standard 3CD set and the bigger box 3CD set is just dumb, like nearly $40 for some paper and a bigger box.
