I'm a fan of Deerhunter but haven't heard this one yet. What do you think? I think I also need to relisten to Monomania and Fading Frontier again. Halcyon Digest was just so good I think my initial impression was that of a little bit of a letdown.
GONG Live at Club Arc-En-Ciel, Roanne, France August 17, 1973 This is now the four (and fifth) disc of live Gong that I’ve played from this box set. I have also played three of the four studio albums included. It is safe to say that just like our beloved Grateful Dead, it is the live material where the band shines. The albums are great, but the live stuff is where your mind gets blown. These cats can play!
Yes, I agree with you. If, like many others of us here, this album has remained in your heart, I would like to recommend this beautiful Live in Berlin too. If I were you, I would choose the CD / DVD version. It is really beautiful. The CD contains beautiful songs, you listen very willingly, but ... alas ... it is not particularly dynamic (as - almost - always with Deutsche Grammophon CDs ...) they will never learn. Anyway, you really like to listen, the problem of suboptimal DR is not that serious. But ... the CD does not contain ALL the songs of the concert, for that you have to insert the DVD in the player. Not only does it contain many more songs than that magical Berlin evening CD, but the audio quality is better and the visuals are done very well. The arrangements of these pieces were written for a large orchestra. and it is, in my personal opinion, really interesting. Not everyone loves his Symphonicities, but I like it a lot. However, this LIVE version is certainly much more enjoyable than the studio album. I don't think it's "personal taste", because everyone's enthusiasm (musicians, Sting in primis, but also the public) also involves the home viewer in front of the TV... Anyway ... many songs from The Dream of the Blue Turtles are included here. To me, personally, Moon over Bourbon Street and Russians are the best, but everyone will decide for themselves .... I know there is also a BluRay version, I assume it is even better in quality, but I chose CD / DVD because so I can also listen to it in the car ... Happy listening.

Changing light, changing records: My afternoon in the office. Notorious Byrd Brothers Marquee Moon Ooh La La Post
This is a masterpiece, betwixt his other masterpieces, in an age of masterpieces. Remember your guard dog? Well I'm afraid that it's gone. It was drag to listen to him whining all night long. Post Manson paranoia, Pre Son of Sam--he was absolutely fearless in his commentary. It's been a while. Thank you. It spins next.
Desert Music. Tinariwen, Amadjar Something of an antidote to the cold, seemingly anyway. It gets cold in the desert, too.
June Tabor “Anthology “. I always think June sings with a degree of constraint, but find her version of “The Band Played Waltzing Maltilda” as moving as any song I know.
