    Definitely not The Carpenters.

I could Sleep Walk to Santo & Johnny though, and I love The Velvet Underground.

I have a soft spot for 70's soft rock--- everything from Bread and The Carpenters to Firefall and America to one-offs like "Wildfire".
But only a few tracks from each act. Never could get through a complete album by any of them.

Definitely The Carpenters. When I was a teenager in the 1970s, I used to mock them because they didn’t “rock.” I was an idiot back then.

    Some others I like:
Olivia Newton-John (her early country pop stuff)
    Simon & Garfunkel
    Neil Diamond
    Bread
    James Taylor
    Gordon Lightfoot

  9. The one and only Blossom Dearie.

  10. Grahamstuartcanada

Grahamstuartcanada We play two kinds of music “new” and “wave”

I took my wife to see this band perform for her birthday...6 years ago. While it was kind of a gag - I was amazed how many songs I knew, and the ones I had liked...I still liked

My father said there used to be a bit of a sweaty mosh pit whenever Herb Alpert & the TJB came on at parties in the early 60s. I am partial to Herb's "This Guy's in Love with You" on a promo sampler for Rhino's Bacharach-David boxed set. It's a soothing song in a perfectly mellow collection.

One of my favorite soft albums is ‘Mid Air’ (2012) by Paul Buchanan (from The Blue Nile).

It went completely under the radar. Here’s the title song:

I don't want to say that any of the acts I like are soft (though many of them undoubtedly) are, 'cause they might come round and beat me up to prove that they're not. ;)

Some of my earliest music memories are of the golden age of 70's AM radio with plenty of soft stuff and pop I reckon. I like Bread, Seals & Crofts, America, Jim Croce and a veritable boatload of one off-radio gems like Brandy, for instance.

Not sure if you've listened to Blue Sky - Night Thunder in its entirety yet, but if not then give it a try.... it's a good album.
