I'm thinking bands like The Angels, The Divinyls, Cold Chisel, INXS, Midnight Oil, Noise works etc.

Silverchair are in my top 5 favourite bands of all time as are INXS and Cold Chisel. Don Walker is a poet.

Lesser know was used here in the sense of
- not well known outside of Australia
- Many folks didn't realise some of these bands were Australian

 

Huge Divinyls fan. Would kill to have seen them live pre-"I Touch Myself."

 

Big fan here of a lot of the Bands mentioned, Really like the New Race, Offshoot of Radio Birdman (another fave) and perhaps an obscure one - JoJo Zep and the Falcons

 

Jo Jo Zep was great, with The Falcons and The Black Sorrows

 

Can't forget Courtney Barnett

Listened to Hoodoo Gurus a lot in college but rarely since. Great call by @DME1061 and @BroJB on Lime Spiders! I found a $1 promo lp of theirs a few years ago and it was surprisingly good
