I'm thinking bands like The Angels, The Divinyls, Cold Chisel, INXS, Midnight Oil, Noise works etc.

    Any fans out there ?

    Massive fan of Aussie music.

Silverchair are in my top 5 favourite bands of all time as are INXS and Cold Chisel. Don Walker is a poet.

Also, there exists this gorgeous little gem of a song from Little Heroes:

    James Reyne
    Australian Crawl
Twelve Foot Ninja are awesome and SO underrated.
    Tame Impala
    Icehouse
    Mondo Rock
    Dragon

There was also this thread, which somewhat took on a life of its own

    Lesser Known Australian Musical Artists

Lesser know was used here in the sense of
    - not well known outside of Australia
    - Many folks didn't realise some of these bands were Australian

Big fan here of a lot of the Bands mentioned, Really like the New Race, Offshoot of Radio Birdman (another fave) and perhaps an obscure one - JoJo Zep and the Falcons

The best Rock band today is Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever. But there really aren't any challengers. Still great band, regardless.

So many great ones already mentioned. My faves are:

    The Saints
    Scientists
    Beasts of Bourbon
    Rose Tattoo
    Radio Birdman
    X (the Aussie one)
    Birthday Party

Listened to Hoodoo Gurus a lot in college but rarely since. Great call by @DME1061 and @BroJB on Lime Spiders! I found a $1 promo lp of theirs a few years ago and it was surprisingly good
