I have quite a few of the Sundazed reissues as well as a few original lps. Anything new in these reissues?
You’re buying more than a 23-track CD. It comes in a hardcover book with more than 60 full-color pages, including liner notes, interviews, and photos. P.S. Price is $20 at Nancy’s Bootique.
The CD packaging is sumptuous. And the "Summer Wine Sunburst Orange" colored vinyl is the perfect complement to the art direction of the cover design. I can't wait to receive my copies of both in the mail when they're eventually released. I've only ever had the Nancy Sinatra Super Audio Best SACD compilation. This release will be a welcome addition to my music collection.
Now available on most digital and streaming services: Start Walkin' 1965-1976 …and here’s a: YouTube Playlist
Thanks for the streaming heads up - it's on Qobuz in hi rez, so will give it a play now. Slightly OT, but I discovered the Movin With Nancy special on Youtube last night - no idea how I never got this on VHS, but glad to see it now, it's incredible.
I've just ordered a second hand DVD copy - no idea how I missed that release. LITA have run an excellent campaign around their release, great to see the interview with Nancy in the Guardian etc, but as I don't need their release, (got it all on vinyl and CDs) I've ended up buying this instead. That said, if they are able to put out a blu ray of the Movin Special, I'll probably buy it again.
Checked out a couple of tracks on Spotify. Appears to use the original stereo mixes where appropriate - Bang Bang and How Does That Grab You have the LV panned off right, just like the original LP. Glad to have a true stereo version of YOLT on streaming now though - the old version seems to be a very narrow fold of the stereo. SQ seemed pretty good. Solid bass and crisp top end, but I didn't spend any proper time. Hoping to have a listen this weekend.
I'm enjoying listening to this on Spotify. Of course, I wish there had been a few different selections included (particularly one-off singles like "The City Never Sleeps At Night", "In Our Time", "100 Years", "Love Eyes" and "Drummer Man", as well as her take on "Light My Fire" from her underrated "Nancy" album) but I'm sure everyone has their particular preferences for what should have been included...
Hopefully we can get an non album tracks collection out of this series. I’d snap that up in an instant.
I guess it was too much to hope for the movie version of You Only Live Twice--it's probably tied up because of being on a film soundtrack. I'm willing to give the set a listen and compare it to the Super Audio Best
I, too, prefer the movie version of YOLT but I totally get why the stereo version of the single was used. And I do dig the fuzz guitar. Only streaming till my CD comes, but this thing sounds great! Fine selection, too. Great flow of tunes.
I wonder where people who are already receiving the CD edition of this set ordered from. Did they buy direct from LITA? I ordered my CD copies from Amazon and then bought the black/orange swirl vinyl from Nancy's Bootique. Both products are subject to the well-known production delays.
