I just received a new power conditioner, the Bryston Bit 15. I will be hooking it up tomorrow. It should be a step up from the Durman Elite DMI. I do know the Bryston is heavy as I struggled to get it up the steps to the living room.

I got a great deal on a used Rogue Audio Pharoah and it arrived a couple of days ago, but I slipped during the blizzard last week and screwed up my back pretty bad. It's too painful to try and move amps and cables around for a few more days at least. Very frustrating to have my new toy sitting right here and I can't even get it out of the box. First world problems...

the stock jjs sound very good but take a long time to burn in to get rid of the slightly sibilant treble. should eventually become an exceptional match with your Fortes though.
I did not have much luck trying to warm up the sound without losing detail or adding too much bass. everyone says mullard or brimar in the preamp tube but neither worked for me.
in the end i went for transparency and 3d sound stage accomplished by RCA 5614 in the back row, Amperex oem preamp tube, look for philips or other brands that were made by amperex for a lower cost.
the front row 12ax7 are what i had to bite the bullet on and purchase a set of amperex as well.
you get exceptional detail, a smooth transparent sound, very good bass, midbass and an amazing midrange. the soundstage was liquid and enormous. having heard your speakers many times i can picture how great that would sound.

Sorry to hear this news and best of luck to you in getting better quickly. Unfortunately I can relate having taken a nasty spill on the ice on Sunday. Still can't tilt my head back enough to even glance up at the clock on the wall. The little things in life we take for granted everyday are huge when they suddenly get taken away.

The only thing left for me now is a new tuner and (maybe) a new phono stage!

I just acquired the Asgard 3 w/ DAC yesterday. As you can see, it's a big upgrade over my previous DAC/Amp.

    New house in 2021.

can’t decide whether to keep my Yamaha AS801 or get a nice tube preamp to go with my Rotel power amp.

I wasn’t planning to buy anything this year. But my new Rega P6 will be here next week because I’m a weak, weak man.

Just bought a new cartridge, the AT VM95ML.
It's being delivered to my usual hifi shop where it will be fitted to my new Rega P6.
Very excited, quite an upgrade to my 10yr old RP1!

I have my new Bryston Bit 15 conditioner installed. That sucker is heavy at around 44 pounds. I do like it better than the Furman conditioner I was previously using.

I just put the cheaper AT VM95CL on my RP6 yesterday. The stylus sits really close to the record. I’m wondering if a spacer is a good idea.

People seem to go either way on this one.
So far, they've advised me that they think I'll just about get away without a spacer but I'll report back when they start to fit.

I'm planning on putting together a nice budget system consisting of:

    Audio Technica LP140X turntable
    Audio Technica VM95ML Cartridge
    Yamaha A-S301 Integrated Amplifier
    Wharfedale Denton 85 Speakers

I live in an apartment so I think I'm done with expensive equipment for a while.
